I'm talking about great entertainers. Sure, his life was short due to a bad heart and weakness and illness, but he knew it would be and maxed it out every day that he had.
Bobby Darin.
Anyone read about this guy or familiar with his work? He's sort of "Bo Jackson-like" in that his career was short but his star was very bright when it shone.
"Mack the Knife" is arguably better than any song that Elvis ever did. Look it up - Ed Sullivan show. Huge number one hit, and what an entertainer, and even had movements like Elvis. He dabbled in many different genres of music, which diluted him some, but Neil Young spoke of him as a genius.
Elvis himself, it turns out, snuck in to some of his performances to see him.
He was also a better actor than Elvis, got a Golden Globe for his role in "Come September". Really stole the scenes from Rock Hudson, who is very wooden in this film.
He came through the same era as Elvis in the 50's.
