How many NIT games must we win

In NIT to support the argument we deserved to be in the Big Boy tournament? If we lose in the first round, is the argument that we should have been in moot? Second round?

Is there a part of the NIT that involves time travel. Otherwise there is nothing we can do that would mean we belonged.

If we win the NIT tournament, a valid argument can be made that until the winner of the NCAA tournament plays us, the jury is still out on who is the number one team.
