How could anyone actually support BLM as an organization, listen to this!!..

It would like be supporting th republicans or voting for the republicans over certain issues like abortion and same sex marriage issues but not necessarily supporting everything about the party. No one completely supports everything. Some votes for president trump for one or two issues but no one agrees that it is good to grab women in the p$$&&. Right? Or to be divorced and remarried to the woman you were cheating with? Right? And no one who votes democrat does so believing in everything the party or members of the party stand for- most times it’s a couple of issues or concerns. Let’s face it- there ARE facist leaning folks in the Republican Party and socialist ascribing folks in the Democratic Party but we still support and vote for them. BLM has some issues that are important and some that folks disagree with. It is not always wholehearted like our own voting- come on y’all- this is simple but we are too scared and angry to be logical about it. We want to dump the whole thing for others when we don’t do that for ourselves.

There is an enormous flaw in your analogy.

In party politics there are only two viable options - Republican or Democrat. Unless you want do use your vote as a protest vote, that is it. There are a myriad of non-profit organizations. If you have never found organizations that work for the good of black people without also supporting things like the killing of unborn children, you haven't looked hard enough

There’s a bigger flaw... Trumps policies don’t have #### to do with ##### grabbing or divorcing women. If anything the dems are more in favor of divorce than Pubs... but that’s another story.
I also like the line of: there about how fascists are in the Republican Party and (to even things out) there are socialists in the Democratic Party.
I would say there are baby killers all over the Democratic Party and there are extreme capitalists in the Republican Party.

While we don’t agree on everything I believe that most South Carolinians hold many of the same core values. We split our votes between political parties who often times don’t do us any favors because they don’t hold the same core values. It’s pretty naive do demonize someone just because they voted differently than you. It’s naive to toe the party line too. Extremists on both sides concern me greatly.
Love your neighbor as yourself and the world will be a much better place.

Decent analogy IF you truly understand BLM. I would say 99% people don’t know their fundraising goes through the Democratic Party or that part of their mission is the “disruption” of the nuclear family. If you know that and are in favor of those two things go ahead and “cross party lines”.

the very thought of supporting an organization that

seeks Marxist ideals in our country is pathetic. It's simply putting your race before the Constitution and its ideals, and that's exactly what is wrong here.
Some African-Americans, maybe such as yourself, think there are no limits anymore; they're not beholden to any reasonable standard of conduct in a multi-racial world. They believe that the previous existence of slavery gives them the "mantle of righteousness" no matter what they do. They go from Affirmative Action to tearing down monuments to Reparations without a single thought as to what the differences are nor what is really just.
Check Kap for instance. Bully him for raising awareness. I get it, and support the general idea. But I won't support anyone - White or Black - when they disrespect either the Flag, the Anthem, or the Constitution. Once you go there, GTFO...

So in order to support the statement that Back Lives Matter, the only option is to support the BLM organization? Yes this really is simple and logical and not surprised that some can’t see why people don’t support the organization. Yet another trick of the socialist, and you’ve fallen for it.
Secondly, do you find it interesting that Democrats care so deeply about morality in the case of Trump yet nearly all of them voted NOT GUILTY (including Biden and Pelosi) when Bill Clinton matter of factly lied in 1998 and faced impeachment? I guess morality doesn’t actually matter much to Democrats (and really all politicians) unless there’s a political advantage to be had.
Don’t bring your double standard to me and expect me to take it hook, line, and sinker. Unlike your socialist friends, many of us have a brain and won’t be fooled.

It is not a double standard- I am saying we ignore many things to support what and who we want- when certain issues are in line with ours. No one is clean- the Democrats sure ain’t. I am not making a moral argument for any group over another- I was just giving an example of how conservative Christians could vote for a candidate in trump who did what he did and said what he said. I am not saying Pelosi or Biden is ANY better. BLM is not a perfect organization- I am not falling for “itl cause I don’t believe we can wholeheartedly support anything man made and run outside of our faith.

I understand your point. And I am with your overall sentiment, but BLM is very extreme.
The other mistake you keep making is saying that because Trump as a person isn’t someone I idolize, doesn’t mean he’s not the right leader for the policies I believe in. He is not very Christian, but he fully supports Christian policies. There’s a difference. I don’t vote for the most “perfect” person, I vote for the person I think is right for the country.

Judge this Kind of behavior. Or maybe the Bible says abortion and Homosexuality are “greater” sins. Now, I am not one who believes a president has to be a believer to be a good leader but just saying for these issues and gun rights and economic stuff they looked past some of what they would not look past in their own lives and families.

There is no political purity ANYWhere!! This is laughable how defensive and angry everyone is cause we all want to be completely right and want others to be completely wrong. Of course I believe in ultimate truth but we inevitably screw it up- Black, White, Asian, Hispanic, First Nation . Any group we support and says they support us will let us and others down. Cause we are all broken sinners!!!!! Thank God for Jesus and his kingdom coming. Come quickly!!!

I'm with you 100% The part that makes me angry is when people dont think for themselves and just to one party as if one party is completely correct in all of their thinking. Just know there are plenty of American citizens who are with you and can see good and bad in both current political parties. I want to see reform in how our justice system works so that no one has to live in fear of seeing a police car behind them in regular Everyday traffic. I also believe that fewer taxes are a good thing. I also believe in an individual's right to own guns.

I will say that the thing that bothers me most is it feels like for some the thought of allowing the black community to feel safe when around law enforcement somehow means they have to feel less safe. At least that is how it appears to me.

The thing that makes black people more safe is the same thing that makes white people more safe. It’s the thousands of good , decent police officers who live a life of service to protect us.

I have to agree with the poster that pointed out the primary flaw in your analogy... The country is essentially a two party environment....
I think your own post was also very valid when you emphasized the difference between the statement Black Lives Matter ... and the actual organization...
I am very much for racial equality.... Black lives absolutely matter....
That doesn’t in any way require me to endorse or affiliate with the BLM organization... There are so many other ways for me to promote racial equality in this country .., that have nothing to do with the BLM organization...

The only platform I can definitively find from BLM
Jun 15, 2020, 7:15 AM
|

is that cops are racist and that police forces need to be defunded. Because I do not agree with the the first part, and I think the second part is in direct contradiction to the goal of preserving black lives, it is very easy for me to not support BLM.
There have been a couple efforts to find a broader platform, but no success on here. Can you advise on a formal statement outlining their goals beyond what I have written?

This is an asinine statement and I think you know it is. Your whole argument is a category error. If those against the BLM organization were pointing out shortcomings in the life of the founder of BLM, that would a more apt comparison. Or if Trump had a crotch grabbing rally, that would be a more apt comparison.
But BLM has - at its core - an articulated platform that includes explicitly Marxist ideology. And BLM founders have openly stated that this was the case. You are comparing the foundational core philosophy of BLM with shortcomings of Republican office holders.
What you have stated is not an argument, it’s a weak attempt to justify a position that you would find difficult to abandon.
