Graduation Rate Chart (Sorta Germans)

We’ve all seen the graduation rate chart… it’s crazy. Well, it’s actually WORSE than you originally thought. Looking into what the NCAA factors into this percentage, it EXCLUDES all transfers and early departures for the NFL. Further, it INCLUDES only scholarship football athletes who attend and graduate within six (6) years.
This chart ONLY shows graduation rates for players who come and stay at the school and graduate within 6 years. This makes that horrendous 41% rating even worse—59% of UGA football players that don’t transfer don’t even graduate within 6 years. How can any football players attending a university that has under 70% be considered a “student athlete?” How is there not a required metric to meet?

I’ve read elsewhere that transfers do count in the following situation. A player transferring out must be in good academic standing else that player counts in the calculation. Given how bad Georgia’s % is, I have to believe transfers who were flunking out are also part of the problem.

With 20 more scholarships, Kirby can keep 12 more kids from graduating college!***

Every time I see this chart, it irks me to think that uncheat, puppies, and free shoes, the U really drag down the conference.
That aside, it also chaps me that it doesn't get scrutiny. It's a sin the acc was mismanaged as bad as it has because I actually like our members and the conference. Hate to see it disappear.

Now that Saban is gone from Bama, that number is going to fall like a rock.

a 90% or better graduation for the prior 8 years they are not eligible for the playoffs or national championship. Fake classes and cheating on this requirement would also result in automatic probation for five years in which they would not be eligible to participate in the playoffs or national championship.

And you think such a rule would eliminate cheating?

Well, I suspect that AFDawg will come on and explain why that chart is way off and that UGA should be right up there with the top academic institutions. Even if you graduate, it's still a UGA degree, kind of like the diploma factory in Columbia.
