do NOT diminish the regular season. Never has a Clemson vs. SC game had so much at stake. They were playing to stay alive for the playoffs and we were playing to lock up a spot. In the old system todays game would have been meaningless from a national perspective.

Some games won't mean as much if both teams are making the playoffs, but other games will gain importance just like ours today.

We lost, and have a potential path to the CFP anyway
They won,and are likely to be still left out

So what was really at stake?
