Because the meaning of homecoming is not that the team has been on a road trip and is coming back for a home game.

It’s about alumni gathering at least once a year.

I get that, but family weekend is right before and then after a couple away games we play VA. This would have made more sense.

I'm sorry if I'm being critical. I just noticed as we were trying to decide what game to come and visit and throw a tailgate for our 3rd and thankfully last child we are paying to get this fantastic experience.

Given the opponent & not having many fans traveling. Probably hoping that will help boost the home crowd by doing homecoming for that game.
