Chad Morris was a proven OC with highs success rate at he highest level of HS competition in America.
CJ spiller best back disappeared last three game of the year with no one to fill his spot. Either no development or no talent.
Tony Elliott and Jeff Scott were understudies if coach one: Chad Morris. Who had taugh Gus Malzhon his system the year before to win a Natty.
Dabo is the rare exception. Yes. I asked who the #### is Dabo Swinney when we hired him. He did earn his place well. That just isn’t the norm.
I get what you’re trying to say. But, stats aren’t on your side.

Tony and Jeff Scott were good when they were doing the job together. We stagnated offensively and once the insane talent level dropped slightly were abysmal offensively once it was just Tony
At the end of the day we hired an experienced coordinator, and that’s the position where you need the strong Xs & Os, I swear the pumpers on here wish we would have tapped a fan from section TDG for DC and wanted to give him a decade to “figure it out”

Goodwin was proven. He had lots of experience, he did a better job while at Clemson than most all his peers did at other colleges. At the time, he was the best candidate for the job (unless you know more than Dabo).
Coaches (except for a couple) get hired and fired and re-hired every year.
Some improve and become a Saban, some don't.

Look at his progress from his flop Soph year to his Junior. Streeter had DJU on a Heisman watch list when we were 8-0 and programming the best for him. DW4 and TL16 had their best years as players period under Streeter's guidance. Only Lincoln Riley had a better QB pedigree going for him over that stretch than Streets.

If you are impressed with Wes's resume, and think that it warranted being selected as DC you really need to look at the resume of Eason, Reed and Rumph. If you think Wes deserved to be DC ahead of these 3 men I just don't know what there is to say. We've seen the results of this idiotic decision of hiring hungry over hiring qualified.

Wes was a pretty good analyst, and that's about it... he wasn't the best for the job, Dabo never did a search for the best like he is doing now. Do I think I know more than Dabo? Well yes, on some things, if Dabo truly thought Wes was the best available. But something tell me he didn't think Wes was the best but would do and be a yes man. I knew Streeter was a bad hire, or promotion. Yet people like you told me the same thing, Dabo knows more than you. Funny, how did Streeter work out?

Let's make one thing clear, when it comes to football, there's absolutely nothing that you know more about than Dabo. Well there some of the decisions he's made or right or wrong is not my argument. I'm simply saying that there is zero aspect of football which you have more knowledge than Dabo.

This is really simple guys, we are not a developmental program. A pre-requisite for all OCs/DCs coming here is that they need to have previous experience, and more importantly success, as a coordinator! We will pay guys in the top 5 nationally on both sides of the ball, that just doesn’t jive with passion projects

With defensive coordinator, you’ve painted yourself in a corner now. You cannot follow up a questionable hire that was a bust with another questionable hire. You have to go experienced coach route. You can’t throw a headset on Mike Reed and say “ look, I fixed it!”

Wes never played football at any level, never coached any position, no kind of record with recruiting or developing players , but somehow, he was blessed with some magical football IQ that made him smarter than defensive coaches on the staff with decades of proven experience? C'mon man!!! Give it a rest. Yes Dabo has made great accomplishments educationally and professionally as a football coach but let's squash this notion about him possessing some great knowledge because if he did he never would have made such a idiotic decision on hiring an analyst with no playing, recruiting or player development experience and try to pass him off as a DC at a major college football program.
