winning CWS titles expands soon enough. It has to be somewhat frustrating for Jack that he was never able to get over the top on his own, but awesome that he gets such satisfaction over proteges having that level of success.
It would really be special if he were to finally snag that ring coaching under one of them.
Go Tigers! Way to go Coach Leggett!

At the time, I felt (and rightfully so) that it was time for Leggett to retire. And, I supported the Lee hire.
Needless to say, the Lee hire was a disaster. The Bakich hire just seems different. It feels like he has the same passion that Leggett had when he took over for our legendary coach, Bill Wilhelm. I am beyond excited to have Bakich back and that he brought Leggett back on staff to serve in his role. Leggett truly does love Clemson baseball. We, as a team and as fans, are better that he let bygones be bygones and is back in the dugout.
Go Tigers! Beat the 'gators!🐅⚾

To your point about firing Jack, while I thought it was mistake, I understood the arguments at the time. The 2010 season was so magical and heartbreaking and it felt like we were not going to recapture that unless something changed and leading up to 2015 there were definitely struggles. But I still never wanted Jack to go because to me he IS Clemson baseball in the same way that Wilhelm is for old timers.
I gave Lee a shot, but his teams didn't feel like the Clemson baseball teams I knew growing up to when I graduated. Some of my fondest childhood memories are going to games throughout the 90s. I probably had more birthday parties on Jervey as a kid than I did at home. I don't know how to explain it or if it's the culture around the teams, the play style, but there is something you can intuite and as a lifelong Clemson baseball fan, Lee's approach just didn't fit Clemson. Square peg in a round hole.
In hindsight, the best thing Radakovich did was leave for Miami, because Neff knocked it out of the park by getting Bakich. I knew I was all-in on Bakich that first presser where he talked about how important Jack Leggett is to this program and his desire to have him back for as long as possible. You knew from that moment that Bakich gets it, and the results he's shown on the field only further back that up. This team feels like the Clemson baseball program I've known all of my life again.

Now let's hope that this Bakich team can do what those teams you're talking about couldn't do, and that is bring the CWS hardware back to Clemson, the trophy case is starting to be bored without anything new moving in, Go Tigers and bring the hardware home to Tiger Town!!!

When we look at the whole picture of the teams that's been in DKS last week and coming in this week, we are seeing the coaching tree that Jack help to develop in all his years at Clemson. There is Tim Corbin, Kevin O'Sullivan, Erik Bakich, and Bradley LeCroy. That is 4 baseball Head Coaches that Jack Leggett played a part in developing those young men into head coaches. With Bakich Jack had a small part in his development, but Jack played a huge part in the development of Corbin, O'Sullivan, and LeCroy becoming head coaches, and those guys have made their programs into winning programs, and that says a lot for the type of HC that Jack was in his prime, plus all those coaches including Jack came off of the Bill Wilhelm coaching tree where all of those guys have become good HC that began at little ole Clemson!!!
