Our first spotlight goes to #7 Logan Brooking. He is a true freshmen TE for the 2025 Clemson Tigers.
He is a “NFL legacy and four-year varsity contributor in Georgia”.
He was “Rated by ESPN as a four-star prospect and as the 14th-best tight end in the nation … credited as the nation’s 28th-best tight end by 247Sports, 33rd-best tight end by On3 and 37th-best tight end by Rivals … two-way player throughout his four years on the varsity football team … played 47 games in his prep career, collecting 84 catches for 1,206 yards and six touchdowns … posted a career-high 38 catches for 544 yards and three scores as a junior … added 21 catches for 289 and two scores in 2024 … averaged 14 yards per catch over his career … collected 189 career tackles, 32.5 tackles for loss and 20.5 sacks on defense … posted 12 sacks, 15 tackles for loss and 66 total tackles for an 11-2 team as a sophomore in 2022 … named All-Greater Savannah as a sophomore … helped Savannah Christian’s 2022 squad to the quarterfinals of 3A playoffs … in 2024, added 36 tackles (six for loss) with 2.5 sacks while leading Savannah Christian to a 12-3 record … committed to Clemson on Nov. 3, 2023 … coached by Baker Woodward at Savannah Christian.”.
Logan was “Born July 16, 2007 … enrolled at Clemson in January 2025 … pre-business major … son of former 15-year NFL linebacker Keith Brooking; Keith was a five-time Pro Bowl selection who was 12th pick of the 1998 NFL Draft and remains the all-time leading tackler for both Georgia Tech and the Atlanta Falcons … at various points of his NFL tenure, Keith was teammates with Jamal Anderson (father of current Clemson LB Jamal Anderson), OL Michael Thompson (father of current Clemson DT Champ Thompson) and TE Marcus Pollard (uncle of current Clemson DL Caden Story).”.
Here is his HS scouting report per 247sports “Talented all around football player who shows the ability to play at the high major level on both sides of the ball. Recruited more as a tight end but talented edge rusher as well. Catches the ball really well, strong hands and little wasted motion in securing the ball and getting up the field. Comfortable working the deep levels of the field and has good ball awareness. Tracks the football really well and routinely makes contested catches. Runs well and gives you something after the catch. Love the physicality in the run game, has an edge to him and finishes his blocks. Impressive defensive highlights as well, can get up the field and bullies opposing tackles. Projects as an every down TE you can play in any situation and has all the tools to be an impact player and multi-year starter.”

TLDR Version: - Perfection!! National Champions! - First 15-0 team in Modern Era! - Brian Dawkins inducted into NFL Hall of Fame
Season Overview:
According to Wikipedia:
“The 2018 Clemson Tigers football team represented Clemson University during the 2018 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Tigers played their home games at Memorial Stadium, also known as "Death Valley," and competed in the Atlantic Division of the Atlantic Coast Conference. They were led by head coach Dabo Swinney in his tenth full year and 11th overall since taking over midway through 2008 season.
Clemson, coming off a College Football Playoff semifinal loss to Alabama in 2017, began the year ranked second in the preseason AP Poll and Coaches Poll. The Tigers won all 12 of their regular season games, securing their first undefeated regular season since 2015. Clemson won their fourth consecutive ACC title by defeating Pittsburgh in the 2018 ACC Championship Game. In the final College Football Playoff rankings of the 2018 season, Clemson was ranked second, earning them their fourth consecutive playoff bid and a spot in the 2018 Cotton Bowl Classic against third-ranked Notre Dame. The Tigers won that game 30–3, advancing them to the 2019 College Football Playoff National Championship against Alabama, their fourth consecutive year meeting the Crimson Tide in the playoff and third time in four years doing so in the national title game. Clemson won that game in dominant fashion, 44–16, to win the Tigers' third national championship in school history and second in three years. They were the first undefeated College Football Playoff champion and the first major college football program to finish with a record of 15–0 since Penn in 1897. The team is considered by some analysts to be one of the greatest in college football history.”
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2018_Clemson_Tigers_football_team
Worthy of Note:
According to ClemsonTigers.com:
“Sept. 29, 2018 – After a week in which Kelly Bryant elected to transfer after Trevor Lawrence was named the starting quarterback, Lawrence exited a game against Syracuse due to injury in the second quarter. Quarterback Chase Brice helped Clemson overcome a 10-point fourth quarter deficit in a 27-23 win, completing a fourth-and-six pass to Tee Higgins on the game-winning drive, leading to a game-winning touchdown run by Travis Etienne with 41 seconds remaining.
Dec. 1, 2018 – Travis Etienne scored on a 75-yard touchdown run on the game’s first play from scrimmage as Clemson blasted Pittsburgh 42-10 in the ACC Championship Game at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, N.C. Clemson became the first team in ACC history to win the conference outright in four straight seasons.
Dec. 4, 2018 – Christian Wilkins became the first recipient of the William V. Campbell Trophy in Clemson history, accepting the award known as the “Academic Heisman Trophy” from the National Football Foundation in New York.
Dec. 29, 2018 – Clemson appeared in the Cotton Bowl for the first time since Jan. 1, 1940. Clemson defeated Notre Dame 30-3 in a College Football Playoff semifinal game that represented the first matchup of undefeated teams in CFP history.
Jan. 7, 2019 – Clemson finished the first 15-0 season in major college football since 1897 with a 44-16 victory against top-ranked Alabama in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. The win was the 55th by Clemson’s 2018 senior class, tying for the most in college football history.
Jan. 9, 2019 – Head Coach Dabo Swinney became the first three-time winner in the history of the Paul “Bear” Bryant Award, collecting the honor in Houston, Texas. It was one of several coach-of-the-year honors earned by Swinney for the 2018 season, including ACC Coach-of-the-Year and the Woody Hayes Award from the Touchdown Club of Columbus (Ohio).
Jan. 14, 2019 – Members of Clemson’s 2018 national championship squad were honored by President Donald Trump during a visit to the White House.
April 25, 2019 – Clemson made history, becoming the first school to have three players selected as defensive linemen in the first round of an NFL draft. The Oakland Raiders selected Clelin Ferrell No. 4 overall, followed by the Miami Dolphins’ selection of Christian Wilkins at No. 13 and the New York Giants’ pick of Dexter Lawrence at No. 17. Six Tigers in all were selected in the draft in Nashville, Tenn.”
https://clemsontigers.com/clemson-football-historical-timeline/
And, according to Wikipedia:
“The Tigers were led offensively by true freshman quarterback Trevor Lawrence, who won a highly publicized battle for the starting role over 2017 starter Kelly Bryant. Sophomore running back Travis Etienne contributed significantly, rushing for over 1,600 yards and an FBS-leading 24 rushing touchdowns. He was named ACC Player of the Year following the regular season. On defense, the team was anchored by a highly touted, veteran defensive line consisting of Clelin Ferrell, Christian Wilkins, Dexter Lawrence, and Austin Bryant—all of whom were subsequently drafted in the 2019 NFL draft.”

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2018_Clemson_Tigers_football_team
With yet another victory over the Gamechickens, Clemson now leads the series 70-42-4.
Of note: - Clemson scored at least 40 points in 9 of its 15 games (And at least 50 in 4 games)! - After a close game vs. Syracuse at the end of September, no one – including undefeated Notre Dame and undefeated Bama – could stay within fewer than three touchdowns with Clemson!
It is also worth noting that Chase Brice started the Syracuse week as the third string QB. He was probably just hoping to get into the game at the end in mop up duty.
But when Kelly Bryant left the team on Wednesday, Brice became 2nd String.
And when Trevor Lawrence went down with concussion-like symptoms in the fist half on Saturday, it was Chase Brice who saved the game – and Clemson’s season – by leading the Tigers to two 4th Quarter scores to secure the victory. Brice even had to complete a 4th and 7 with Clemson down in the final minutes. Of note: Had Clemson lost that game, then Syracuse, not Clemson, wins the Atlantic Division and plays in the ACC Title Game. And Clemson almost certainly misses the playoffs with both a loss and NO conference championship.
Kudos to a Clemson hero: Chase Brice!

During the 2018 Regular Season:
As the season progressed, the 2018 championship was already a certainty! Sports pundits from coast to coast had already crowned the National Title to the Greatest College Football Team that had EVER been assembled:
Alabama!
Throughout the regular season, Bama was cutting through the mighty SEC like a hot knife going through butter. No one in the “It Just Means More” conference was even posing a threat. By late October, ESPN had begun the ordination when it posted the headline: “Is the 2018 Alabama team the Tide's greatest ever?”
“Tagovailoa has 25 touchdowns and no interceptions. His 97.5 QBR is the highest through eight games in the 15 years that ESPN has produced the metric. He still hasn't played in a fourth quarter this season. … By all accounts except Saban's, the Alabama offense through eight games is a once-in-a-generation unit. The Tide have scored a touchdown on the opening possession of all eight games.”
https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/25091096/where-does-2018-alabama-team-rank-all-greats
As November began, Stephen A Smith listed his Top Five teams in college football (and why): 5. Alabama: “Because Nick Saban is the Real Deal” 4. Alabama: “Because Tua Tagovailoa” 3. Alabama: “Because the Meat and Potato Dudes (Bama OL)” 2. Alabama: “Because of the SEC Schedule” 1. Alabama: “Because Saban coaches like he is broke and starving.”
In other words: No one else was even close!!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6eDwKosgkyE
The media gushed and gushed about the unbeatable Tide as it cruised toward its inevitable perfect season!!
Bama was the unstoppable “Best Team EVER!!”
In the 2018 playoffs:
Clemson became the first team to face two undefeated opponents in its two playoff games (Clemson became the second team to do it the following year).
Cotton Bowl: First a 30-3 beatdown over undefeated Notre Dame: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8gDbOj7Xt5w
But next up was the unstoppable Bama coronation! Clemson was entering the National Title Game completely outmatched by the undefeatable Tide!
And yet:
- GOBSMACKED!!! (Could watch this video again and again and again!!) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p8qcWOICsgU
Also in 2018: Brian Dawkins is inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame: - According to ClemsonTigers.com:
“Former Clemson All-American Brian Dawkins has been named to the 2018 NFL Hall of Fame Class. Dawkins, who was in his second year of eligibility, is the first former Clemson player to be named to the NFL Hall of Fame.
Dawkins lettered at Clemson from 1992-95 as a safety. He was named a second-team All-American by the Associated Press and The Sporting News after his senior year. He was named a second-team All-ACC defensive back in 1993 and 1994, then was a first-team selection as a senior in 1995.”
