Simple yes/no question

Mar 14, 2022, 1:03 PM

*Anyone related to or paid by the current Clemson basketball coach is not eligible to participate*

Clemson finished number 84 in the net ratings, 10th in the ACC, and no postseason play. Do you think this is an acceptable performance for Basketball in year 12 under the current coach?

Please do not post excuses or personal attacks , just answer the question or move on.

Clemson doesn't care about basketball....as evidenced by Brown-L getting 14 years.

Yes. Bad seasons happen. Nothing I saw was because of *coaching*

FYI, No. 83 in the Net rankings is Tony Bennett's UVA squad.

So a coach in his 13th year finishes 19-13 and 83rd in Net.... and that would be.. what?

I said "Yes."

I am not related nor paid by the athletic/BB program. I am related at a few other schools for other sports but not Clemson

You said "move on" I did. Moved on to my next point.

Did I post an ad hominem attack? Nope. (You kinda did just now). Excuse? ehhh, That would be attaching blame to something. I did not attach blame but rather said it is within the margin of error/data noise. You used "please" just like if someone from the government would come up an say "please put on a mask". It isn't a mandate.

If you wanted to make it a one word response, you should have specified.

35.1 win % in one-score games says otherwise. Brad brings up the rear in coaching his team to wins when both teams are in it and it comes down to game management at the finish.

Right…..Bennett’s won a final 4 no?….that matters….. Brownell hasn’t come
Close to sniffing the acc regular season or tourney champ. Face it…..he’s reached his ceiling and is obvious that he’s gotten a bit comfortable in those hills……hopefully Neff is itching to put his mark on the program by making a hire. I like brad, but this experience needs to be over.

Remember, he inherited a program that had been to three straight NCAA tournaments and had recently played for the ACC Championship. He sank it with bad recruiting and has been trying to build it back up ever since.

No. At Clemson, you and your boss sit down yearly to establish new goals and be evaluated on the previous year's goals. After 12 years of making little, if any, progress, an employee would have been terminated or shuffled off to a different department. The only thing that would make me change my mind would be if the boss in this situation set the bar too low. In that case, the person in charge is at fault.

Don't tell me what to do. Not all questions can be properly answered with a yes or no but but you can get the answer you want to almost any question by limiting it in that way.

No. Not acceptable. I'm pretty sure Brownell would judge it so. What's your solution? Fire Brownell is my guess. Mine is to let what happens every year happen. He'll have his performance review and his bosses will weigh his current performance, his past performance, make a judgement as to the benefits of replacing him vs. the drawbacks and the likelihood of improvement. Add a little experience and crystal ball reading, stir in some eye of newt under a full moon, and make a decision... oh, I left out the part where they consult TigerNet posts. :)
