if Bama had lost yesterday, then beat UGA decisively. But now, the SEC will be getting in. The two teams that may get screwed are FSU and Texas...if Bama beats UGA

If Bama beats UGA, it would not surprise me one bit to see them leapfrog FSU. In fact, If Oregon beats Washington, they might jump FSU too. I know no undefeated conference champion has ever been left out, but with Travis out, the CFP committee is looking for an excuse - and either of those two victories could give it to them.

And nobody’s even mentioning Texas, which adds a whole nother layer of complication to all of this.
Washington, Michigan, Florida State, and Georgia are all probably deserving of spots regardless of what happens at conference championships in my opinion, and especially if they finish undefeated. But if Oregon, Texas, and Alabama win their conference championship games, then they are also all deserving of spots in my opinion as 1-loss teams. And as much as I can’t stand them, I even think you could make a good case for 1-loss Ohio State as well, though they would definitely be last. In the past cfp years, there just haven’t been this many great teams before, so the 4 team model has been mostly sensible. But this year, you could really make the case that all 8 of these teams deserve a spot, and this final selection could get very ugly because there’s just no way to solve this puzzle with only 4 spots unless Oregon, Texas, and Alabama all lose the conference championship game.
