The term fixed income and why it is used instead of poor. My boss's income is fixed. Exactly the same very pay day, but he isn't poor.

I've been on a fixed income for 3 years

and I am poor. Gross has been fixed - net has dropped every year thanks to Obamacare or something Obama's fault.

I see it applied to old people more than just poors
Can't wait to retire to get those COLA raises every year. Those old people have income a lot less fixed than me.
