What's wrong with Mafah?

He is definitely not the same back since the VT game. I love the guy but we have to get more than 60 yards from our running backs. He is slow and unable to break tackles.

He should have easily converted the third down play in the red zone but tried to cut inside instead of using his speed to get to the edge or his power to run through the tackle. Handing it to him on 4th down was never going to work.

I know he's a senior and wants to play but we need a healthy running back on the field.

The real question is “what’s wrong with the coaches for continuing to play him”? He’s cost us two games, not fighting for a first down.

Is the next man up really that bad?

Interesting to watch Jordan Leggett and Hunter Renfrow in that championship game contort their bodies and essentially dive backwards to catch balls thrown behind them. What’s the best Mafah could do in crunch-time with the game on the line? A halfhearted reach back to flip the ball up for an interception.

Dude has either lost interest in the game or he’s hurt to the point he can no longer perform. I would much rather see a backup with heart playing instead.

when everybody else sees there is an issue, coach always denies it, which is why fans get frustrated with him.
