Having the series between UGA and Clemson for many years, I had always thought that Clemson had superior athletes even in the games that we lost to them. However, that was not the case this year. UGA's players looked bigger, stronger and more athletic than our players across the board. What has happened to our recruiting?

It seems that this series always favors the visiting team for some reason.

lol, that is a good one. they were bigger alright. every pitcher they sent out there looked like tackles for the football team. we have lots of problems but being strong and are not the problems. that excuse is very tired and old. our problems are more on the field. no clutch hitting, errors on routine plays, baserunning. can we not b!tch about things that really matter.

The better athletes, who are often bigger and stronger, were able to get those clutch hits, make the plays, and avoid the errors. My point is that there is less talent on the field for CU the last couple of years. That all goes back to recruiting. It is not an "old and tired excuse" because, in the past, we have had the talent and the athletes to win and it was not an issue. So, again, what has happened to our recruiting?

There is a lot that has happened to our recruiting and it starts with the admin. Clemson is not on an even playing field with others. Until that is fixed this is what you will see and I don't care who the coach is.

At this point who cares? As long as Jack isnt back next year, that's all I care about.
But here's my prediction.....D-Rad doesnt have the manhood in the nether region to can Jack. I'll bet the house that Jack is back in 2016.

Wake Forest got Bowden out the door. A sweep by a northeast team might do the trick.

I think Leggett should get a coouple of years with the new improved facilities. Financially we cannot compete with many other schools as far as offering scholarship monies, but we should match up facility wise.

you can have the finest facilities in the land, but if boys don't like you and don't want to play for a guy who changes his swing and makes him ware his hair a certain way and won't allow facial hair. nor any of the things that other coaches allow, you are not going to get the best players to come.

fatboy they've been some mighty fine players that have played for Jack.
And a lot have come back through the years to help coach and help at camps if they hate him so much you'd think they would stay away.
That is really a crazy post on your part.

we have the players right now that came without the new facilities. IMO,Pep changes a pitcher's style of pitching. Their style they had been using had worked in hs and probably little league. If they didn't like their style, why did they recruit them. I also Lecroy messes with their batting and changes things there. Don't understand changing something that has work for the kid so many years. And Jack....a whole 'nother story. Baseball has passed him by.

at the season opening banquet he introduced Chase Pinder from Pocquoson(sp) Virginia, and then said he had no idea where it was.

Recruiting now takes place at big showcase events for the most part. You do not see college coaches at many high school games for a number of reasons...budget being one, and the ease of seeing the top players from across the country all together in one place several times a year. Much like AAU basketball.

Those darn facilities lost it for us again!

The problem is Jack. I can go back over ten years and remember kids who wanted to come to Clemson, had been life long Clemson fans, and Jack wouldn't give them the time of day because there was some 5'7 kid from Vermont we just HAAAD to have! Makes perfect sense, why recruit the kids in your own backyard who play baseball most of the year when we can go get some kid who can't play half the year because the field is covered in snow? He burned bridges with several coaches in this area (Hillcrest, Mauldin, Wade Hampton, and Riverside immediately come to mind) and allowed several players to go right down the road only to beat us consistently. Once they built their program and won championships, we were behind the eight ball in recruiting when we actually wanted a player around here.
Jack is a pompous, egotistical, and delusional coach who thinks he can win with anyone, but his time has passed. We need new blood and a new start. At the end of this year, thank him for his time, give him the opportunity to resign, and when he refuses, fire him.

The Northern player thing hasnt been true for several years.
I have been one of Jacks loudest critics on this board over the years but that is simply a myth with our current roster.
