Ian Schieffelin is not NBA talent

but if I am a professional basketball scout or coach at ANY other level, I am moving him into serious consideration with his improvement during his college career and after specifically watching him on two plays yesterday...

There were only a few minutes left to play and Syracuse had just tied it up and Schieff was spotted up at 3pt range, but slightly hesitated and the defender backed off enough for him to shoot - he is shooting 50+% for 3pt range and could have easily justified the shot attempt, but knew the right play in that moment was to get it to PJ Hall and did so and Hall got an easy basket. A couple minutes later, Schieff got the opportunity again, but this time did so in stride and knocked down the wide open 3pter. That is extremely high basketball IQ and is the type of forward that can make your team's star big man that much better, which he is doing for Clemson.

His confidence is soaring, but still knows he is a role player and seems to know exactly where that line is and gives us our best shot at winning when he plays as close to that line as possible without crossing it. That selflessness is something you rarely see in any level of sports these days.

But I’d be curious to know his 40 time. With the emergence of Kittle and Kelcie and all the athletic tight ends, I’d like to see him try football again but as a tightend for a year. Antonio Gates used his rebounding skills to be an NFL MVP after playing college basketball.

Antonio Gates was never an NFL MVP...

But was elected to the HOF

Always hustling. He’s got to cut down those turnovers though. He’ll get there.

My man sChief. Loved him since we recruited him. He worked with our assistant coaches this past off-season... and it is coming to fruition. So I 1000% agree with your assessment.

I'm just shocked at how bad Syracuse's defense is. Any decent (not even top 25) team has shot 50+ percent against them. Cuse will be looking for a replacement soon. Boheim always seemed to play D and rebound.

He's definitely a tweener, but he could get some looks.

Glad he is a college talent, though!

We may have a losing record without that dude.

Brownell should buy the kid a house or something…now that it’s legal.

of the things Huter Tyson did on D and rebounding. Not as much from 3 but helps in other ways on O. Great development in his career

The NBA is about free lance scoring and that is not Schief. I still say he would make a great Tight End if Dabo knocked on his door.

You know nothing about basketball or the NBA.***
