Does anyone know what the REAL story is on this kid?

None of his actions make sense to those of us on the outside looking in.

and will likely have trouble complying with NCAA Clearinghouse requirements as the results of his high school coach allegedly altering transcripts.
The belief is that he will be a sign-and-place no matter where he signs and, as you know, Clemson doesn't take JuCo transfers.

I posted when this committed to be wary of him and was ridiculed. Haha. I live in memphis and wouldn't touch a kid from trezevant and sure enough everything I said came to fruition. I'm just glad we didn't get wrapped up in his mess.

Isn't the vast majority of Memphis pretty hood? I have family out that way and they've all moved outside the perimeter to Germantown, Collierville, etc.
Which area do you live in? And is Memphis proper as ghetto as people say?

I lived in Codorva - a suberb of Memphis when Albert Means was recruited from Trezevant HS to Bama. I thought they cleaned house on that school though. There are still mysteries surrounding the Albert Means story.
I worked downtown (Maybe mid-town / up-town or whatever they called that area) and there were lots of street people. You would meet one almost every day at lunch time or quitting time wanting money. I guess there were lots of Black people since I knew people that called it "Memphrica". I've never heard that term used outside of Memphis though. I choose to live outside the inner-city of large cities myself, so I'm not very knowledgeable as to how it is there.

There are definitely areas. Memphis is weird. You have million dollar homes and four blocks over you have Crack houses. I live in Arlington.

He is a kid that has no control over what his coach or any other adult at that school does. They are the ones that should be punished for the grade tampering. And they are the ones that should be made to pay for private tutoring to get all his grades up no less than a B average across the board. And they should be kicked out and barred from working any job as an educator any where in the united states for ever!!!

Hmmmm. . . . I sense a disturbance in the Force

I think his video and then his switch tells everyone why this would not have been a good fit at Clemson. Our players don't start a video out with: "I'm a 4-star" and they certainly don't switch on National Signing Day. And, they certainly would never say they are going to Maryland???? (Talk about a washed up program from the days of Randy White in the early 70s and then Boomer Easiason in the early 80s.) I sense that there was something about this young man that while a truly outstanding athlete, he would not have fit the "outstanding man" label of Clemson recruits these days. I think the parting of the ways in December was probably mutual from Clemson's standpoint as well. Good luck Mr. Richardson.

'GENTLEMAN'!!!
No - sometimes these kids are just trying to have fun and that is okay for me.
I think the story about poor grades still holds up well here. He may have committed to a P5 school in Maryland, but then the school realizes or he realizes that he'll never get in there.
When that is clear he finds another school and conference where the shady grades can be glossed over.

The naked tree cutting was fun and original. Nothing about that was bragging about being a 4-star recruit. And, any coach that talks about good wood taking a while to light but then it burns for a long time has got to fit in with naked tree cutting!
But, you are probably right on the grades thing. And, maybe that is what happened with Maryland too. While they certainly are not a football power any more, they are more of an ACC school in terms of academics than the majority of the Big 10 (Michigan, Northwestern, and a few others excluded).

He's looking for a place where he might actually get accepted.
If he were academically eligible, he'd be headed for Clemson in the spring.

actually the kid was very reserved, didn't do any interviews and wouldn't allow anyone to speak for him, probably because outside of football field, he was very unsure of who he could trust... this guy only has two things in common with Mike Bellamy, being a RB recruit and a certain possession of melanin... as far as social and pathological, those two are opposite ends of the spectrum...

Based on what I have heard (and his action 1 Feb), he might be a candidate for EMCC.
