Chad Kelly

I know there are various opinions on here about Chad Kelly, and that some on here like him and some do not. But what was very evident to me is that unlike some on this board, Kelly's teammates love him. Did you see when he scored his TD that Sammy came off the bench, ran down to the end zone to give him congratulations? Many others did the same. You could tell they were genuinely happy for him. He must be doing something right.

Coots do hate Chad Kelly. They see another Whitehurst in Kelly. That is a very bad though to them.

I would have liked to see him through one down field but he looked very confident on the run and I'm sure that touchdown felt great considering where he was in april

*throw
Also, you can't always grade the guy by what he does not do. The game plan probably was not to *throw it down the field.

It was also his first TD in college. After his hardwork in rehab, I'm sure he earned some respect from his teammates. I like him but I hate that Watson will probably start ahead of him. I still think Watson RS next year.

Yeah MyFav, I didnt mean he should have thrown it down field, I am sure he was doing what he was supposed to, I just meant I would like to see what one of his down field passes look like. I think he did great all around for the time of the game he was in.

I agree. I thought he looked pretty good. Especially on his TD run. Was throwing a lot of short passes. Maybe they didn't want to look like we were trying to run the score up.

He was obviously just excited to be in the game before the last minute of the fourth quarter. I think once he gets out there as the guy, he'll be as poised as any. In his HS film, he has a CANNON for an arm. Not really worried about his passing ability.

Re: Chad Kelly - noticed that too - like his intensity!

I think he has become humble considering he has to be third team now, and may have to be second team next year with Stoudt being so efficient with his passes. Chad was the better qb in Spring Game until he was injured, which also led him to more humility! Great mix, I think, being so intensely competitive with some humble pie mixed in.

We could use a little Johnny FB attitude next year at QB...
Nov 4, 2013, 8:19 AM

Not the BS and mouth but the winning and confident attitude. I think Kelly might bring a dynamic to the team like Shaw and Johnny do for their teams. The heart and attitude of those two help there teams greatly. The Tigers are going to miss Boyd's leadership and someone has got to step up.

I just one day hope that everyone in the world will one day agree on how freaking gay the word swag is. Swagger is ok. Swag is not. Corny white people say swag.
A much better word would be confidence, among other words.
Sincerely, Concerned 21 year old.

You're right. The term "swag" should be placed at the same demeaning level as "gay".

That there just gave me a big laugh. A very good black friend of mine for over 20 years is the first time I heard swag used. But I don't think I would have, or anyone else would have told him that swag sounded gay. He is a gentle giant at 6'11"/420 pounds. But telling him that he sounds gay over his use of a word isn't something I would advise saying to him by anyone. Not even by another black man!!!

You would hope that the time and effort he put in to rehab from April ACL injury to be playing at all, is worth support from us all.

It was awesome to see him get that TD. He looks like he will be a good one, but lets not forget about Mr. Watson!

He and Sammy are highschool buddies.

They consulted each other before signing up for a particular camp. They've been friends for a long while. If there's any chance Sammy stays another year you can expect Chad's being here to play a big part in the decision.
If Sammy announces he's staying I'd bet the farm on Chad starting next year against UGAy.
