Instead - they were all too happy to play along with the Biden Administrations lack of border security policies and "let all the illegals in to stay" approach because they NEVER thought it would affect them. It was a way to gain some lefty street cred by touting the illegal alien "sanctuary city" moniker while believing it would never affect them. After all, the Democrat's policies producing this massive influx of illegals was Red State Texas' problem to deal with. Now these leftist sanctuary city hypocrites are finally getting a dose of reality and it's ruining their virtue signalling politics.

Good on Governor Abbott for finally forcing some of these leftist bastions to feel a sampling of the massive illegal problem that Texas has been dealing with. The left need to feel the consequences of their refusal to address border security and in many cases putting forth policies that further exacerbate the problem.

Border security and cutting off the flow of illegals should be non-partisan issue. Instead we find that too many in the halls of power (almost all Democrats and a chunk of Republican Inc.) believe there is both political and economic profit in maintaining the flow of illegals across the border. Funny how these supporters of the current flow of illegals across the border start singing a different tune when it's no longer "somebody else's problem" and lands on their doorstep. Hypocrites...
