Mickey, I'm a Clemson Grad '90 from Boston and you nailed it! It's a shame too because BC has had some good teams over the years but there's just too many pro teams in town for folks to care -- overload I guess. ND will be a great addition.

I talked to a good friend last night who went to BC game. Dressed out in their Clemson gear the only comment they got "Are you on the bowling team?"

Boston College and Syracuse

2 things -

We had several interactions with BC fans during our week in Boston. One not very nice, but most were civil. It was nice to have some Boston folks know that there was a game.

We sat near some Clemson fans that were originally from the Syracuse area (now living in Charleston). They are "ALL IN" with the Tigers and have 2 sons at Clemson.

You shouldn't put us in the same category as UNC. I know Tech doesn't hit the mark as what many term a "football school". But pound-for-pound, we are more knowledgeable about football than UNC fans. Honestly, our problem is that there just aren't enough of us. Usually, when you meet a Tech fan, they either went to Tech or have a family member at Tech. Take me for instance. I went to Tech. And that's part of the problem. We need more fans that never went to Tech or that didn't marry a Tech alum. We need random sidewalk fans, which we don't get enough of. In this state, 99% of those people either go with UGA or they don't go with anyone.

UNC has an entire state at their fingertips, and just doesn't care enough about football. They're a basketball school. Pure and simple.
