unpolitical but topical - any you Lungers ever been shot (took a bullet)?

would like to hear what your experience was like.
I took a .22LR in the foot one time off a ricochet, which still counts I guess.
Right through my shoe an inch or two below my little toe in that meaty part of the mid-foot. Just a graze, but took a nice chunk out.
Really didn't hurt at all at first, I think because bullet is so hot it kind of sears the nerve endings. It felt kind of "heavy", kind of like getting hit with a hammer or a baseball. I think that's why many people don't even know they have been shot immediately, they just feel a "thud".
Once my mind cleared and I figured out it was a bullet that ripped thru my shoe into my foot, that's when it started hurting. And bleeding.

My first year teaching I let some of my students talk me into going fishing at what the said was their family pond.
After about an hour we were fairly spread out around the pond and the next thing I know a guy has a gun pointed at me telling me it’s legal to shoot trespassers.
Explained what was going on, the kids came out of the woods by the bank, gun holder knew one of them, we all walked away. Taught his daughter the next year we had a good laugh at parent teacher night.
Cousin was an oil well inspector in Eastern Kentucky and on a visit one time I rode along with him. We got chased off by a shotgun and had to hang around waiting on the sheriff to get him so my cousin could red tag the well, real Andy Taylor moment that was.
Was at my aunt’s house and went across to the school yard to shoot basketball. Next thing I know 2 cops are there, guns drawn. They had gotten a report of someone shooting out the windows of the school. They left me alone pretty quickly when they saw I was 11 years old and went to have a word with the good citizen who had phoned it in.
Been in the woods a lot in my life, probably had a deer rifle or 2 pointed at me as well.

But did have an idiot cousin (welcome to the south, amirite) that shot my foot with a BBQ gun pellet. Thing stayed there for about 2 months, and finally worked its way to the skin. So cut it out. The end.
