Has regressed significantly.
If we don't turn the ball over we should pull one out this year.

No doubt about it. He can’t throw from the pocket. Happy footed. Touting him as an NFL prospect is ridiculous.

We just need to cover Nyck Harbor and account for Sellars scrambles.

Re: Sellers - Nyck Harbor analysis

Nyck Harbor is vastly overrated.
His MO is dropped passes plus running useless routes. So, he doesn’t get open easily except in fly patterns, and then he drops more than he catches of the bombs from LaNorris Sellers.
His attributes are huge size and incredible straight line speed. Soooo good looking based on measurables. Sooo mediocre as a player.
To make matters worse, LaNorris Sellers has been definitively exposed as having inconsistent accuracy. So even when N.Harbor gets open on a fly pattern, Sellers … more likely than not … won’t deliver a catchable ball.

I think we are blowing that game a bit out of proportion. Outside of two good QB runs he didn't do much against us.

Bro we aren't blowing a 27 point halftime lead. They aren't better by any stretch of the imagination.
That isn't to say they won't beat us but there is zero supporting evidence to suggest they are better.
And history has proved that repeatedly.

S.Carolina is actually pretty good on defense this year. I’ll admit to being surprised that S.Carolina’s defense has been as good as it is this year.
We’ll have trouble scoring on any defense with a pulse. So there is one problem for us.
S.Carolina’s offense, on the other hand is bad. Not only has S.Carolina’s OL play deteriorated, but they have no RB #1 as good as what they had in Rocket Sanders in 2024.
L.Sellers has been figured out as far as the most dangerous part of his evasiveness. Last year, his squirrel-like scrambling gave him the entirety of sideline-to-sideline width in order to run. This year, exposed for all to see when S.Carolina went up against OK and Brent Venables, was OK’s defense blitzing Sellers to death by sending one (not infrequently, two) blitzers straight up the gut. This made Sellers move very early to either the R sideline or the L sideline. (Or, Sellers would keep dropping back instead of ‘constraining’ his scrambling lanes, and this end up getting sacked.) With Sellers committing to scramble prematurely towards one sideline, the defense could adjust before the pass patterns led to open receivers and thus converge in a ~ concentration of the non-blitzing DBs and LBs to contain him. Meanwhile, the blitzers who went up the gut would be pursuing Sellers the entire time.
Sellers does not have good enough field vision, nor do S.Carolina’s receivers and Sellers appear to be on the same page as who is going where once a play breaks down.
The result is usually either an incomplete pass, a TFL, a short gainer run, or a sack.
“Usually” is the operative word. Sellers still finds a way to create big plays even in the face of these potential adjustments by the defenses of well coached teams. Overall, though, Sellers is a fully known entity here in 2025 to whom defenses have adjusted their strategies. Teams are now exploiting his numerous deficiencies.

A&M showed 7/8 man fronts on the 2nd half. Tbey almost gave him 1 good match-up each dnsp. He couldn't find it fast enough. Our problem is we cant get to him fast enough to make that work. We will have to have our best tackling efforts of the season. But he is not a good passer into tight coverage.

His only skills seems to be being big, running fast, and hard to tackle. A&M jumps offsides, he throws the ball out of bounds. 4th and 12, last chance to stay in the game and he runs out of bounds.

DBs have learned that hitting him on the thighs or higher doesn’t work. Heck, LBs for the most part have learned this.
We’re seeing DBs more often than last year going for his lower legs instead of thighs even when they are in position to make a big hit to the upper body or hips. Hitting him low -&- holding on for dear life is working because, like an elephant, with his feet immobilized he can be knocked over if other defenders run to the ball and finish off the tackle.
Sellers’ game hasn’t improved since last year. Defenses facing him have.

You people throw this term regressed around like it's candy. He didn't regress. The team around is not as good as it was last year, particularly as offensive line.
