Will Dabo leave?

If you've been a fan of Clemson (or better yet a GRAD) you durn well better hope he doesn't leave.
Now, I grew up in Powdersville, SC about 25 miles from Clemson and finished in '17. I can't imagine rooting for another school. But, no other school has ever offered to pay me millions of dollars.
But, let's run in back via his shoes:
1. Dabo grew up an Alabama fan 2. Dabo walked on at Alabama - formative experience & won a Natty there! 3. Dabo coached at Alabama 1993-2000 4. Dabo's momma lives in Alabama. 5. Dabo's wife (Kathleen's) family lives in Alabama. 6. Alabama would have to be his dream job.
Now, ofc I would have to agree. He's a Bama boy through and through and he should seriously consider this. Regardless of how well he does he would be joining the ranks of Bear Bryant and Nick Saban. You're dang right he would win at Bama.
However, there is some risk involved - you're following the greatest coach of all time. You're leaving a place you virtually built (ok, that's an exaggeration but please, if Dabo didn't build it he at least DOUBLED it). You're leaving a state that loves you.
If I'm an Alabama fan I'd want him so bad and I'd be calling for him. Or for a fall guy to go before him.
Probably the hardest week of Dabo's professional career rn.
Stay tuned.

He isn’t leaving. Better to be the King of Clemson than Saban 2.0 and get run out for not repeating what Saban has done. Those are impossible shoes to fill.

I'd like to see Dabo stay, but won't lose any sleep if he leaves.

Being the Clemson football head coach is a desirable job (thanks in no small part to Dabo and the great job he did making us an elite program). We pay really well, we provide outstanding facilities, and we give the football program whatever it wants in terms of financial support, fan support, etc.
We wouldn't have trouble getting a great head coach if Dabo decides to leave.
As important as Dabo has been to our football program, he isn't our football program. He isn't bigger than our football program. And we will be fine whether he stays or goes.

It is fair to say Dabo has brought Clemson to national prominence. It is fair to say Clemson exploded after our first national championship. It is right to think we would still be a small town few apartment complexes and 11000 undergraduates without Dabo. In short Dabo is most influential employee ever.

All I read is bama didn't want Dabo so he had to walk on to make it happen. Here we took him with open arms(chanting his name after beating usc at home) I was there. We love him and appreciate him fully. He is OUR family and not bamas. He will go down as a Clemson legend and some like me want him to be our version of Bobby Bowden to FSU. He is paid just fine and he will never have to worry about a thing here. At Bama those people are spoiled already and only want NC every year. They wanted Saban fired multiple times. They are living in a fantasy land. Also Dabo leaving is a big middle finger to Clemson after all the "little ole Clemson " days. Basically telling all of us Bama means more than you. So Dabo just like when I met you at the recruiting wrap up after you signed the Dabo Dozen and you handed me a All In poker chip after I said I'm all in coach....we are your family and no need to leave the ones that love you.

Well put about Bama not wanting Dabo when he walked on as a player & they don’t want him now! I welcomed him as our head coach when he got the HC job, and I still want him! Stubbornness got him this far will help us rub it in again if big ole Bama ever gets back to natty again. We will be waiting for you! Go Tigers!
