Ask Travis Etienne if he regrets flipping from LSU.

Was he ever committed to LSU ?
Don't remember if he was a true "flip", but point taken
Plenty of options for that safety take between the commitment lists of LSU, Tenn, Auburn
Not to mention Bookie from IMG or Derrik Allen from ND
No rush to fill this spot
Wonder if Patrick Surtain Jr is having 2nd thoughts on LSU (heavy favorite)
Thats the big fish out there

I think if Tenn & LSU end up being the train wrecks that they are now, lots of commits will reconsider.

Just what I was thinking when I read he wanted to talk to players bc there is where he can get the real on how it really is at Clemson. He, Jaycee can get that real with just one late comer of our last recruiting class, just talk to Travis Etienne. By talking with Travis Etienne, he will be talking with someone who in the last hour switched from LSU to Clemson without any regrets, and he is loving campus and FB life at Clemson having a chance to play FB on Saturday's as a true freshman!!!

Hard to imagine picking Butch over Dabo. Is no better DC than Venables. Hope he thinks this thru quickly.

Relationships with the curent coaching staff

I think it's just about given that Butch gets let go at the end of the season. They just don't want to fire another coach mid season. It's a bad look. When they lose 56-0 to Alabama it will be over.

It is smart to invest heavily in recruits like this...

Any 4 or 5 star recruit that has already committed to a team with a coach on the hot seat would be worth building a good relationship with, because if that coach is fired and the uncertainty that comes with it, it would be nice to be #2 on their list.
With that said, it is also wise of these recruits to keep their options open, even after a commitement, because you never know what is going to happen tomorrow, with either a coach being fired or leaving for a better job. Just look at Penn State, Lousiville, Southern Cal, UNC, among others, in the short term aftermaths of their various scandals.

If he is 100% committed, he would not be open to other offers. Maybe he's just 99.99% committed...

and the relationships he has with them. He is shopping because he doesn't know what will happen with the coaches. If the coaches stay then he isn't going anywhere.

Jaycee...Dabo says "the best is yet to come"
Oct 4, 2017, 1:53 PM
|
|
You best better believe Dabo when he says that. As a walk on who earned a scholarship to an Alabama national championship team AND took a team to two national championship games and won one of them Dabo knows what he's talking about.
