This. When you have WRs that can take the off the top, you cant just load the box all night. Everything becomes easier. It felt like we finally had some balance.

Total different play calling for App State. Don’t think we would have won if we had the same game plan for App as we had for the slobber jaws. Anyone should be able to see the difference. The ole saying: throw the ball down field. Guess what we were right

Part of it is that we were playing App St and not UGA, but it was a lot more

1. The team, especially the offense, was pizzed off and dialed in.
2. We played the best players (Wesco, Moore, etc).
3. The playcalling was bold and confident and not cautious as it was against UGA. We threw the ball over the middle and all over the field.

As much as people want to say it was because Georgia is world beaters, we played freshman, scheme, etc.. the reality is Cade worked on his quick release and had a fluke game vs Georgia. This is what Dabo has been seeing in practice and the reason he received the kickoff during the Georgia game, expecting to score at will. Between bad decisions, bad play calls, penalties, could never find a rhythm during the game.

I mean that anyway you want to take it. We're not just OK, we're good. If someone suggest we have a very good shot at the playoff I wouldn't argue.
If we have a significant problem it's poachers try to lure out backup QB and some of our receivers away. That's not to say that these freshmen aren't going to run a few upperclassmen off but our problems are really good problems now, imo.

I think it was always about the lack of deep threats. Wesco & Moore have instantly legitimized our deep ball game and rendered the previous consensus defensive doctrine of cover zero and dare us to beat you deep ineffective. Once the safeties have to respect the deep ball, the middle of the field and the running game open up. Coulda woulda shoulda started those two vs UGA.

Confidence, play calling, play makers and tempo. The tempo of the offense finally felt right. We had gotten too slow with DJ and that really affected Cade’s game I think.

It was App State....C'Mon Man. Yes he had a superior performance against a truly inferior opponent. Give it a rest. The game against UGA showed you who he really is. There is no one else on the schedule that is equivalent to UGA. Anything less than a 60% completion rate with at least 200 yards passing a game for the rest of this season should be easy personal metrics for him to achieve this season. If they make the playoffs then let's see how he performs.

As I posted earlier, Cade brought his practice game to game day, and yes it was app st. However, they are
one of the team s with a chance from the group of five, or whatever they call it with a chance to make the playoffs. Any play close to this by Cade the rest of the season, makes us a contender. So go back to the Coot board.

Great throws with some zip and some touch...what we thought he was capable of...passes to everyone except Dabo...almost no dink and dunk crud...the downfield pass with force opens up everything...hope stool continues in the split...he is a coverage nightmare! ND could not cover dog crap in the yard with a bucket of sand...not talking bout a fast dog!

I think the biggest change was his confidence and fearlessness in throwing the ball. Film shows that he has had open receivers, but he panicked, made poor decisions or was indecisive, did not see open receivers, scrambled or checked down instead of throwing downfield, made low percentage throws instead of hitting the shorter high percentage routes, etc.
Of course, having those new freshmen receivers helped but he’s had open receivers before and would not pull the trigger. And the opponent wasn’t Georgia, but he’s struggled against lesser teams before.
For some reason, the game slowed down for him Saturday night. He was decisive and made the right decisions. He was the Cade we were promised. Let’s hope it wasn’t just one game. I for one think he’s turned the corner, but time will tell.

Wesco and Moore should eat. Some others too obviously but my focus is getting these playmakers fast tracked into the rotation. Let's Go Tigers !
