We're literally the top-ranked team in the league in the same article, if that counts.
The question about whether or not us winning the league & making the playoff again is enough to make us happy is a good one, too (& I think the answer is yes).

OK Dodd, I understand your point and those are valid questions. However, does the same not apply to Oklahoma and Michigan? I get Alabama and Ohio State but basically everyone else in their top 10 has some major questions to answer. Can't wait for the season to get here!

Winning the ACC is likely good enough because...

The ACC title is usually enough to get to the playoff, & getting to the playoff is just as likely to keep us all happy any time it happens.

Opinions are like you know what, and everyone has one if you know what I'm getting at. This guy, like everyone else has to release a poll so they can be heard. These early polls mean absolutely nothing and are nothing but click bait so they can earn their paycheck in their own mind. Alot happens after Spring Practice in workouts and players working out in position groups after exams and graduation. Pre Season practice starts in August with the Coaching Staff running the practice and have heard that alot of players have a better grasp on playbook and assignments. Polls have no meaning til the season starts and we see who is the starter and who the 2nd and 3rd string is. I have to agree on a few of his points, especially on offense, but it will get all sorted out by 1st game of the season. If that doesn't meet the Coaching Staffs expectations, look for changes in starting line up. GO TIGERS!!!

If he's right about Clemson being the best team in the league, I don't think that's bad, & his question about winning the league & therefore likely making it to the playoff being good enough for us is a good question, IMO.
I think winning the ACC is good enough, too, FWIW.

I get it. Last year wasn't rosy. They have a NC caliber defense but they will meet high powered offenses like Pitt was, and if they make the CFP. It’s hard to win those games if you can’t move the ball yourself. Let’s wait and see what a summer of practice and new OC can do on that side of the ball.

QB, OL, WR and OC are pretty major concerns in my book. With all those questions, Top 10 is just wishful thinking

If any other team returned one of the lowest rated QBs

and was replacing both the offensive coordinator and defensive coordinator, and that team didn’t even play for a conference championship last year, most of you would say that team is overrated to be picked to win the conference.
But on TNet, that team is slighted and disrespected. LOL.

One great and two average teams beat Clemson last year ...

Hopefully, it was a single rebuilding year. The Defense appears to be, dare I say, actually built back better. The Offense is unchanged in terms of personnel, but hopefully changed in terms of performance.

Bottom line…..

It all falls on the QB. DJ was average at best last year and many expect the same this year. He doesn’t impress me and a lot of you agree I think. There absolutely has to be significant QB improvement- starting with the first game in Atlanta. The Clemson defense will be among the very best in college football.IF a great leader on the field is found early our team can win in spite of an average passing game. A lot of pressure on Shipley and Mahfia and they absolutely must be healthy all season.

ability to get transfers. Dude should do his homework. FACT 1: Swinney is pro-NIL and Clemson is building a NIL focused facility. FACT 2: We’ve never used the transfer portal, so how can there be a negative impact?
