NO he is not.
That was a very respectful approach to this.
And he is right. They stormed the court and it was ridiculous for the other team and even the Clemson players.

Come on. Clemson people need to be able to see the difference from an honest critique like he gave versus a whiny b!tch remarks i.e. Dave Doren, NC State or Ryan Day from O-31-O state.

If we were playing at Duke and they stormed the court. What would he have said then. Not a thing, people cry when things don’t go their way. None of our fans was thinking about hurting his 19-21yrs kids. He’s crying because he lost and couldn’t think of anything else to say than my team was disrespected and they could have got hurt. Throw him a towel and let him wipe his tears all the way back to Duke.

The only thing that I can say to him is to suck it up little boy, your team has done the very same thing in the past on your home court and nobody cried about then, so don't booo hooo about it now bc your team were the losers. Suck it up you sissy a s s crybaby bc Clemson fans were celebrating their win on their court and stopping your team from becoming the #1 team in the country, get the fck over it little boy bc your team should have dropped 7 or 8 spots for losing to an unranked Clemson team but you were shown favoritism and only dropped one spot after losing to an unranked team, enjoy your gift and shut the fck up!!!

I saw multiple SEC football games this past season where the field was stormed. They’ve been fining the schools for years and they still get fans storming the field after a dramatic game. So that leaves the question, how has player/coach safety been improved? They just institute a fine and walk away like everything is now better. Only surrounding the court with police/security is going to prevent the issue. Even then you would still need to move the student sections away from courtside.

I agree need to use those security people in the yellow or whatever color shirts like they do at football games and form a ring around the court until all opposing team’s players exit. This should be something that Graham Neff needs to address not coaches talking about it on a zoom call.

Did you by chance notice that there is a line of security people starting at the base line at the visitors bench and it runs down to the end of the scoring table. At that point it cuts across the court to the home team tunnel. The security people have been lining up like this after every game this season. The purpose is for the visiting team to walk down and shake hands with Clemson and they exit out the home tunnel and stay away from the visitor's tunnel and the student section on that end. It has worked in the past just fine with no issues. One thing that happened on Saturday from what I have been told by some friends who work as security at the games was that Duke did not head towards the Clemson bench and exit on the home end of the court. They tried to go to the visiting tunnel or even huddled in the north west corner of LJC. With the amount of people who came onto the court it is going to be a tall task to control it. Those police and security folks don't really have a chance. If Duke had stuck with the plan as it was set up, and it was communicated to them things would have been better for them. The refs are taken off the court in the same fashion and there was no issue getting them off the court quickly.

I agree. Storming the court is a tradition that needs to stay but safety needs to be part of a security plan by the athletic department. One piece might be to move team benches to other side of the court closer to the team tunnels for a quick exit.
You probably would have to move students to other side to have visitor tickets behind their bench.
A positive would be it would tick off all the empty seat donors (that’s a whole different story) because they would have to look at the back of CBB’s head.

Totally agree with your comments. He's a classy guy imo. It can be controlled, and not through fines. It's a bit different in football. At least the players have protective gear.

On a side note, that flashing lights on and off is so cheesy imo. Everyone is doing it during every timeout etc. Any elderly person trying to navigate steps can be a dangerous situation. Especially with folks that have vertigo. Just not worth it. Go ahead and TD like I care. Jmo

Should players be kept safe, absolutely. But Jon Scheyer needs to man up! Last year, his #8 Blue Dorks went to WF and lost to an unranked team that ultimately lost 4 of their next 6 and finished with 13 losses.

Scheyer is the equivalent to a politician. When a news cycle is negatively focused on him or his team, he deflects to a subject he knows the majority of people will sympathize with.

Coaches and players of teams that lose always look for an excuse. The gamecocks are a good example. They never, never just get beat by a better team. It is always the refs, umpires, or something else that causes the loss.

Here’s an idea. Security with ropes to hold back court chargers. Let the teams clear the court, but the excitement builds for the last player to leave the court and then drop the ropes and let everyone celebrate together. It would be a celebration on top of a celebration when the last player left the court. Or let the home coach go to center court and give the command to drop the ropes and celebrate with the players who want to stay. It could be more fun and also safer.

I recognize you’re all probably recent transplants from New Jersey or Ohio who only learned where Clemson was in 2018 or so, but sorry, this is a non-negotiable. You don’t stick up for Tobacco Rd on anything, at any time, period.

You people would have been taking Dean Smith’s side when Rick Barnes lit him up, or you probably would have written apology letters to Coach K for when Shyatt about took a swing at Dahntay Jones. Either way, just go. You’ve proven you aren’t fans.

Maybe you are fine with strangers shoving you or running into you or yelling at you an inch from your face, but I happen to think people deserve the right to avoid that if they prefer.

I love that we jeer opposing players. Yelling at them and mocking them and saying jokes about their personal lives is fine with me. But you can't just run into something or get in their face unless they are allowed to knock you out for stepping up.

Plus, injuries do happen from this. We don't need them to be frequent to justify better policing them.

I'm not saying storming the court should stop, but we should protect players and staff from being rammed into and having wild drunk people getting right in their faces. Use a rope or add extra security around away teams.

If people can get banned for an alleged racially insensitive comment then surely we can enforce punishment on aggressive physical contact with players/staff.
