I hate to see him leave Coastal, he was good QB and heart of that offense. Maybe he doesn't like the coaching change and pretty sure he has graduated. I just like having another school in SC that has probably been better than the Coots. Obviously we were better than Coots this year but a stubborn HC cost us the win.

It was an ignorant comment so take the verbal thrashing you deserve. If your fan; be a fan, was unaware our coach caused 2 special teams fumbles or paid the other punter to have a career day. If he put Cade in and it went the way of the ND game you would be on here complaining about that too...

He is in the Portal on 247. I was shocked to see him. I was looking to see where DJ ranked in the portal and McCall was in the upper part of the list. They have DJU 100% to Hawaii.

That's interesting. DJU could be in for a surprise, too, if he thinks he's going to have a cakewalk to the starting QB gig. Their current head coach is former Hawaii QB Timmy Chang, who I remember watching on some of those wild 70-60 midweek games you'd see between WAC teams that may not have been champagne-strategy football games but were certainly entertaining. He followed Nick Rolovich, who was yet another of that seemingly endless line of Run-and-Shoot guys Hawaii has had since June Jones coached there. So the ball is going to be in the air, there is not going to be much defense, and there are always going to be 2-3 guys in the Hawaii pipeline who like Chang and Rolovich are physically nondescript guys but also like Chang or Rolovich can spin it accurately and on time and deliver the ball even with four WR's in the pattern and not a ton of protection in the pocket...the system, honestly, is a lot like Spurrier's old Fun-n-Gun.
If DJU isn't delivering the ball accurately and on time, he'll lose his job in short order (if he ever wins it) to some two-star guy nobody's ever heard of but who be the next of like 20-in-a-row guys (I'm exaggerating) who have thrown for 4,000+ yards at Hawaii, because that's just what Run-and-Shoot QB's do.
I wish DJU luck, but this is where the rubber hits the road, for him. If he struggles, the hook there is going to be short and final. They can't afford to have a guy tripping over his own feet and constantly going 3-and-out all the time because DJU went and missed a basic read as he was so wont to do with Clemson.

Really wish he would've just declared from Coastal. It was really nice having another team to root for in SC and they were on a TON of national televised games past 2 years. They did lose some weapons off last years teams.

Rooting for another team in SC was kind of my point in my original post. I liked watching Coastal on Thursday games and watching them win. Someone took offense to me rooting for a SC team besides Clemson and Coastal. I would live for Coastal to continue being great, having a lot of primetime Games on Thurs or Friday giving them even more exposure.
I think Coastal has only lost like 6 games since 2020 and half those this year. McCall has been fully engrained in their success except some injury last year.
Not sure why me wishing Coastal success, and wanting them better than Coots spun some Tnetters up except self explanatory that they must be Coots. Basically said they were 3td best team in SC and they give me TDs, guess the Coots didnt like me pulling for Coastal to be the 2nd best team in SC Who Knows?

It wasn't anything you said about Coastal and I'm fairly certain you know it. It was your backhanded comment about Dabo being stubborn. A lot of us are sick of hearing it. Move on already, you're either trolling for thumbs up's from the negative herd or just rubbing salt in the wound yet again. Its over, DJ is gone, Cade is the starter now. Theres no sense beating the bloody spot on the ground with your stick, the horse is long gone at this point.
