Accused. Couldn’t even find enough evidence to fire him for cause. They had to pay his $7.5 million buyout in full. Only one player made the accusation. Not a single other player witnessed it. Those players just gave Marshall a standing ovation at a Final Four reunion event - in his absence. Dabo has been accused of abuse of a player by a parent who happens to be a former player. Should he be fired and blackballed from coaching again?

Monte Lee had accomplished nothing. His greatest accomplished was being knocked out as a super regional host. Marshall is both a fantastic coach and a great developer of talent.

How long has marshall been out of work now, 2-3 years? Perhaps there is a reason no one has hired him. Just saying.....

I do not know how marshall's contract was worded, but most coaching contracts have a mitigation clause. Let's say your old school owes you $1 mil a year for 4 years for the buyout. If you take a job for $800K/year, school A then owes you $200K (the difference) until those 4 years have elapsed. and your new job must be at a reasonable wage. for example UVA fired Al Groh and he tried to work for GT for $1/year. Obviously UVA sued over that and won easily.

Marshall’s is unusual - they’re basically paying him as though they never fired him. 156 biweekly payments over 6 1/2 years.

I know Greg personally. Tireless worker. Winner. Would have Clemson winning in a hurry. But hey, just hire another nice guy, and lose in the first round of the NIT. If we make that.

It’s a testament to how inept the Clemson and South Carolina ADs have been in regards to basketball that he hasn’t been hired by either.

I, tok, know of Marshall...the one that only players get to see.
Marshall is on the level of Bobby Knight minus the chair throwing. Hard coaching versus the filthy berating of players is the thing that did him in. He was that way at Winthrop as well. Would you all want Urban Meyer to coach at Clemson? Winning is nothing if it is not part of a positive culture.

Why do you jump from Bob Knight to Urban Meyer? Urban conducted cover ups of criminal behavior to keep people eligible. Including one player who went on to commit murder. How does that compare with anything Knight or Marshall have been accused of?
