would you hold it against him? Or would you tip your cap to him and thank him for all he did during his time at Clemson?
I know a lot of you thought SS as a losing quitter for resigning when he did, but I never held it against him. He had 0 to prove to anyone at that point in his career and if he felt like the game had passed him and it was time to call it a day, I can respect that.
I think the NIL/Portal stuff is not Dabo's bag and that's OK. Last night's baffling clock management and odd decisions not to go for 2, etc. make me wonder if he's now losing the ability to manage a game as well.
I for one, wouldn't be mad if he quit tomorrow. I wouldn't call him a loser or quitter or anything like that. The guy is in his mid 50's. Lots of folks at that age have to find something different to do career-wise. Or, if financially secure, they can retire and do what they want. So, I'd tip my cap to him.

For all the good Spurrier did for SC, he is also known for quitting on his team. I can't imagine Dabo would choose to exit that way.

That's a fair point re: SS. I dunno though, maybe SS knew himself all too well...In that he could take a college team to pretty good heights (depending on the programs history and resources) but only for a limited time. Just spitballing here though. Honestly, I would be stunned of Dabo quit mid_Season like SS because that's not been his MO to this point.

I'm sure Spurrier knew it was his time. There is something distasteful about a head coach bailing on a team he knows isn't very good (as was the case with SC) or underachieving (probalby the case with Clemson). I don't think a coach ever completely washes off that stink.

Wish him well. Thank him for what he brought to Clemson in the 2015-2019 spans but ticked off that he was knowingly negligent to our program for a “cause” refusing to utilize all resources available in the new era and not do a dang thing to change.

This is 100% correct. The fact that Clemson football is down, would not sting nearly as bad as it does if they were playing the same NIL and Portal game as each and everyone else.
It sort of makes you think if Swinney can’t adapt, at least his contract should be revisited and reflect his denial to adapt, or at most maybe he should just step aside after the season.
I don’t think they are getting more talented. Each year the defense is further and further away from where it was. They aren’t recruiting well this cycle and there is no way to know who will bail on the program and replaced by a possible HS played that shouldn’t be here. I can’t prove it, but it just feels like we are just at the beginning of a giant fall.

Unfortunately this began years ago and we’ve been seeing the results for that same amount of time.

We win by making big plays, we never really fundamentally control the game (against good teams)

Of course he would be thanked and brought back and honored for years for what he did between 2015-2020. He is not quitting on his own and admitting his way of doing things has passed. Way too stubborn for that.
