Have to get something off my chest.

I'm am responsible for the 3 straight losses to South Carolina. All me. I am ashamed and incredibly sorry for everyone affected. Here's the story:
A few years ago, I had a science teacher that was a gamecock fan, and living in Alabama, I was/am the lone Clemson fan. After the whooping we gave them in '08, I came into her class feeling a little cocky (no pun intended) and we both made some comments about the game before I said it. The phrase that still haunts me to this day. I said jokingly, "Man, Mrs. (teacher), we ALWAYS beat y'all". And there it was, the single comment that would change the rivalry for years to come. She responded with, "Now y'all don't win every time". I had the opportunity to take it back, and it would be like it never happened... but my pride got in the way.
After the loss in '09, I have to admit I was surprised, but nothing to worry about, one year doesn't change anything and we have a conference championship to worry about anyway. The next year I wasn't as surprised. So what? They got us in a rebuilding year. First time they've beaten us twice in a row since when? Nothing to worry about. Then the game last year. I wasn't very confident given our recent struggles with the likes of Georgia Tech, Wake Forest, and NC State, but I wasn't too worried given the fact that this is Clemson vs South Carolina. We own them. They can't possibly win 3 in a row can they? Then the game ended. Domination. That's when I knew exactly what the cause of this was. It was me. If I hadn't said that little comment back in 2008, none of this would have happened.
I knew I couldn't keep it to myself if I wanted anything to change, but I also knew that if I revealed anything hours, days, weeks, months after the game, I would be burned at the stake. So now, I come to Tigernet, hours before one of the biggest games in the rivalry to date, for forgiveness and the hope that with this burden off my chest and with my sincerest apology, this rivalry will go back to the original way: Another Clemson Win.

..but at least you have confessed your sins. In my heart, I knew it was something strange like this, but I couldn't quite figure it out. At first, I thought it was *MY* fault because I dated a Carolina girl back in the 80's. I can rest a little easier now.....

It's not all you. I am pretty superstitious, and like a routine. I wear the same purple (I know, I know) Under Armour shirt and sit on my Grandfathers chair and watch the Clemson games on a certain TV (if I don't go to the game, which I do most of the time, unless work prohibits and I'm waking up or going to bed right at kickoff). So, the last 3 years, I've been to the game, not wearing my Purple shirt, not sitting in my Grandfathers chair, and not watching it on my TV. You can rest assured, because I'll be wearing that ### thing tomorrow sitting my @$$ in my Grandfathers chair watching my Tigers beat the everloving dog crap out of those cocky inbreds on MY TV. I can't be there, for obvious reasons ^^^, so yell for me.

lol, I changed into my lucky shirt during the Virginia Tech game as they were reviewing the Sammy Watkins catch/fumble. It was an obvious fumble, but as I came back upstairs with my lucky shirt on they called it play stands, no fumble. From that point forward we owned that game.

I actually cared about the ACCCG more than the coot game when we were playing in both. After all, I figured, beating the coots is commonplace, but we had not won an ACC title in 20 years.
I had forgotten the pain of losing to the coots. I had taken owning the "rivalry" and winning at the upside down cockroach, aluminum by the 3rd quarter W-B stadium for granted.
I had forgotten just how full of himself the OBC can get when he is actually winning, and ASSUMED (oh, the sin of presumption!) he could never have success at the graveyard of coaches.
For these many errs, I REPENT!!!
