I am with you Coach! (long)

I am disappointed, heck we are all disappointed in the loss this past Saturday. We never want to lose to our instate rivals, ever. It took me a day or so to get over the loss, but I am over it and moving forward. I still believe in Coach Swinney. Coach has brought us National Championships, Conference Championships, State Championships and he has made Clemson a household name. We consistently get 4 star and 5-star players. I can remember 15, 20 and even 30 years ago if we got one 5 star and a couple of 4 stars, we felt like we had a great class. Now we are getting multiple 4 and 5 stars on a regular basis. We are in the playoff hunt every year. We are in the ACC championship game nearly every year. We feel like a 2-loss season is a disappointment, because it is now. We have become a program that expects Championships, and 10-win seasons is no longer enough. We are now a blue blood program. There is no other team with the exception of Alabama that has had the success of Clemson during Coach Swinney's tenure. Can he be stubborn? Sure. Does he make a bad decision at times? Sure. However, who else would you rather have as our Head Coach? There is only one other coach that is currently coaching that has had the success that Dabo has had and that is Saban. Outside of Saban, Dabo has reached heights that no other current coach has reached or has even come close to reaching.

I get it y'all, it is disheartening to lose. It is frustrating at times to see our offense struggle in the manner it has, but let's be realistic, Coach Swinney is one of the best and will continue to be. I would not want to see him coaching any other program. When he does retire from Clemson, he will have statues and buildings named after him. He is that important. He has made Clemson a brand across this Country. Clemson has never been known as a top destination across America not even in the Danny Ford era. Now Clemson is known from sea to shining sea. Kids in California, Texas, Utah, Arizona, etc., know what the Clemson brand is. Kids have stated they are truly thankful and grateful when they receive a Clemson offer. Folks, we don't have to settle or be happy with losses, get angry and let your frustrations roar but be realistic and realize we are a top 5 program in the Country and Coach Swinney has earned the right to make the decisions he feels fit. He has earned the right to call the shots. He has earned the right to make the hires he feels is best. He has earned the right to do it his way. This could all fall apart in 5 years, I get that, but until it does, I am going to support Coach and this program! We are a blue blood now whether some of you like it or not. We have lofty expectations being a blue blood program and it is hard to meet those expectations every single year.

I am not getting on to any of the fans, each and every one of us have a right to be upset and disappointed. We even have the right to question the decisions of the coaching staff, but let's remember who brought us to the dance. Show up this Saturday and cheer our Tiger's on to an ACC Championship. Believe it or not, we still have a long shot at making the playoff even with the mess of this past weekend.
