Hard questions David Hood needs to ask Dabo

Nov 26, 2022, 8:12 PM

Question #1
Why is it when in almost every case we out man our opponent and have the momentum in the game and you call for a trick play?
Today The kickoff return handoff blunder was the turning point in the game. When was the last time we had a successful trick play?

Question #2
Why did you abandon the run strategy today. The first quarter we were successfully running the ball with a mix of pitches wide and up the middle runs. Then we turned to up the middle only and became one dimensional with no passing game.

Question #3
Why do you have a play in your playbook where you throw the ball backwards to our RB? I can think of a few times this year where the back did not catch the ball and resulted in a turnover or big lost yardage. (Today the ref missed the call).

Question #4
Why did you not call any pass plays to the TE over the middle. That has become a very effective play for us recently in fact it is our only downfield threat.

Question 3 is a good point. That's just terrible coaching

as on any swing pass the RB should catch the ball while running toward the LOS, usually around 1 or 2 yards behind the LOS. That is what helps them beat the LB around the corner and pick up good yardage.

We always run the CJ Spiller version of that route where the back is even with the QB and not making any progress downfield when they catch the ball, then has to juke 2 or 3 defenders and fight it out for a gain of 2. Then one out of 200 times they break it for a TD.

Just bad fundamentals.

As a member of the media, I can tell you with certainty

Hood will not ask those questions. If you upset Dabo, he has the power to revoke your press privileges. No one in any presser wants that to happen, therefore the same standard questions after every game, win lose or draw. A reporter’s first responsibility is to the company he/she works for, and if they lose their credentials, they’re of no use to anyone.

Pressers are essentially worthless

Interesting new trend on here this year. Poasters not only trying to tell the coaches how to do their jobs but now telling the sports media guys how to do theirs and using that to passive aggressively tell the coaches how to do their jobs. Interesting approach.

Are they “media” or are they an “extension of the football program”?
True media asks tough questions.

The Tuesday “press conferences” are useless. Nothing asked, nothing said. End of story.
