dead illegal worker in oh......a couple of hours, I will give you my latest first-person, real world example (not from a substack, social media, or any blog). I'd be lying if I said it was my 100th case. It's much higher than that.

Guy died working. He was from a tiny village in Mexico. Guy died literally first day on the job. Never got a chance to send money back home, as he was never paid.

He left behind a sister and mother and father in MEXICO. His brother was with him working in SC and witnessed the death as it happened. Also had a common law wife, a 11yo son and a 1yo son. All in Mexico. He "always wanted to build a house and have his own home". His plan was to work here in SC, send money back to his wife for her and the children and also a little for his parents (brother was to help with this as well), and to save money to eventually RETURN TO MEXICO and build a house, retire, and let HIS SONS come to the US to work and support him.

This has been going on so long it's literally a generational common practice now in Mexico. You send your sons to work in the US, they support mom and dad into old age, their own families, save up, then return when older to send their own sons to the US to work and support them in old age. This is a legit retirement plan in Mexico, and it's been happening for generations now.

Anyway, got in touch with the sister, mother, and brother. Common law wife is now with another man and has married him, and took the youngest son. We have to find both of them and have an attorney helping us in Mexico.

So when I see threads like this, from shady websites, substacks, social media and blogs, it doesn't match the real world I deal with, the real grieving people I talk to, or the facts of ANYONE who is actually working here in the US illegally. None came to escape drug gangs, or to deal drugs, or to become Americans, or to traffic children, or vote democrat (most hate our politics). They don't come to live the American dream. 99% plan to return to Mexico someday to retire in luxury. They come here to escape poverty, pay for their parents healthcare, insulin, dad's heart surgery, and to send their little brother to the local college. They come to support wives and children, and to save up a nest egg to return to and live out their lives BACK HOME. And their own children are sent here when old enough to make money as well, so that nest egg you come back to, and that house you never had that you can now build, your kids can then support you into old age, and their families. Rinse and repeat.

Everything I typed above is a fact. I have talked to hundreds of family members of illegal workers over a 20+ year period. I am more informed on this than 99.9% of people in SC, I promise. I know when they come to the US, where they lived, where they work, how much they were paid, and who they were supporting. That's my job. I have seen a dozen people in a MicroTel hotel room all living in a single room, living on maybe $100 a week, while making $850 a week, just so they can send MORE money back home. Sending money back home IS THEIR GOAL, OBJECTIVE, and PURPOSE. Almost always some to parents, and almost always to wives and children they left behind.

Is this true for 100% of people in the US illegally? No. But everything above is generally correct for 99% of the illegal workers who are actually working. I think I can comfortably say IF THEY'RE EMPLOYED, what I wrote above is the case 99% of the time. Well over 100 cases and I have NEVER seen a SINGLE case, where a deceased worker was NOT SENDING MONEY TO SOMEONE IN THEIR HOME COUNTRY. i have also never had a case where someone came to the US to become a citizen. Fully 100% ALWAYS at least plan to return to Mexico. Some never make it back, but that is the ultimate goal for ALL of them.

Reality is completely warped for many people these days. I really feel sorry for people who consume news in the US, of whatever political flavor they prefer. We are a broken culture. Ignorant, and uninformed, top to bottom, and left to right. There is no relativity anymore. We consume what we like to eat in the news, oblivious to what may or not be the case. We believe what we want to believe, over what may in fact be a reality that we just don't like, or wish to avoid, or both. Or neither. Either way, it's just a sad state we're in and people like the OP just make me more sad. It's not worth arguing with them either. I think I've made my point on this "issue". Few people ever have the opportunity to see the issue as I see it in my profession. Not only is it an eye opening experience, it's also so consistent, and predictable that what i see, and know, first hand, is NOT what people of my political persuasion are told, nor do they believe, and it makes me question a lot of things. I don't blame the OP for his post. He doesn't know any better. He's shaped by a world where if it bleeds, it leads, and that's not a healthy reflection of reality.

My own party, the republican party, AND the democrats BOTH LIE ABOUT THIS ISSUE for their own objectives. You won't see republicans or democrats say what I see first hand. Democrats say they're all refugees from whatever. Drugs, gangs, violence, whatever. Democrats claim they come here to live the American dream and want citizenship. Republicans say they're all fentanyl dealers, cannibals, murders, rapists, human traffickers, and criminals. NEITHER POLITICAL PARTY IS BEING TRUTHFUL. Option C, the ugly, non-political, non-sexy truth is they only come here to escape one thing, poverty, and none plan, nor WANT TO BECOME AMERICANS. They simply want to leverage our dollars to benefit the lives of their loved ones NOT IN THE US. They are much smarter, rational, and grounded than most Americans.

Not sure what you’re trying to prove here. I never said anything about how the fentanyl gets here. I did say something about where it’s coming from. Which is south of the border

I love how I make a post about an illegal immigrant who is a known mass murderer and dismembered her victims body and people like you make pointless arguments that have nothing to do with the post. In my mind, a logical person would think, hey, maybe we really need to do something about the border. Maybe Joe Biden shouldn’t have changed so many border policies and invited migrants.
Seriously, the FBI director is even saying isis is coming through the border and forming terrorist cells in our country. When Trump was in office he said there are a lot of bad people who want to cross our borders. He was labeled xenophobic and racist. Turns out he was right.
Instead you deflect and downplay the situation with a comment like, “Actually, most the fentanyl comes through legal ports of entry with American citizens.” How does anyone know that if they aren’t finding the fentanyl? How does anyone know about the fentanyl that’s getting through and not gettin seized? My main issue isn’t with the fentanyl it’s with the ease that these illegals are crossing the border. It’s with people who shouldn’t be here hurting citizens when we already have enough violence and hurt to deal with. It’s with bussing and flying illegals all over the country and housing them in our community centers.
It’s be nice to stop fentanyl coming in but I don’t see how to do that knowing these cartels have submarines and planes.
