I'm asking because I don't know, but is Florida that much better of a job? This season its not. Next season it won't be either. Lane has had enough jobs where he knows you can get paid more but not worth the aggravation.

Gator fans need to put down the pipe. Spurrier brought winning to a program that historically was not strong. Then Urban Meyer built on the success and got the 2 titles, but left it a mess. They have not realistically competed for anything of significance since then. They are definitely overvaluing the significance of the position. As SEC teams go, they are just middle of the pack

Far be it for me to argue with Joel Klatt, but I would be surprised if he took the Florida job.
Why would he? Money? He has that. Would he stand a better chance at a NC at Florida? He already has one. And what happens when he fares no better than his predecessors? He's looking for a job again.
His comments of late, such as "I needed Oxford more than Oxford needed me" lead me to think he has found a home.
A younger Kiffin would already be arranging his office in Gainesville. This seems to be a more mature, seasoned Kiffin. But I could be totally wrong.

You can bet on one thing. If he goes to Florida they will return to the top. All that recruiting territory down there for him. Will make it that much tougher for Florida State to improve from their lowly situation.

You just buy players now. Recruiting is just a side hustle. FSU did it a few years ago and I expect they open the wallet back up after this season.

Kiffin has likely not signed ext with MS because he believes that he can get more money. And more ‘security’ aka bigger buyout if MS decides to fire him -or- a broader array of ‘offenses’ which would not void his re-done contract at Ole Miss.
Somewhere, whether in Oxford or somewhere else, some combination of the above is probably why he hasn’t jumped back in Ole Miss’ lap.
He’s got big time leverage now. His reputation is not one as being a loyal employee.
Ole Miss needs to grow up and realize that they bargained for the bad side (bad Kiffy) at the same time as they did for the good side (Kiffy wins a lot of games). It’s not a fantasy land out there.

He's not leaving OM before the playoffs. Not a chance. If I had to guess, he's going to use the playoffs as leverage for more $$$ to stay at OM.
