I think that Randall and Turner should have never started. Things might have been different if they had not.

little - it’s a long season and you have to bring it every week
they obviously took better advantage of their time in opening game prep
that’s pretty much all it means right now

More recent success, more recent draft picks, and they beat us by 31.
How can you truthfully doubt that their coaching staff is better than ours?!?

I don’t think UGA is a great team though. They just don’t seem to have that explosiveness on both sides of the ball this year that they’ve had in the past.

You can’t have an offense that calls plays scared. We were afraid of making a mistake where we should have gambled some to try to be beat # 1 team. If you sit back they(all teams) will beat you. 3 yds and a cloud of dust up the middle and down and out passes don’t work any more

Our goal is to win the next game, the ACC regular season and the ACCCG which will give us a bye in the playoff. Win two more and we've reached the ultimate goal.
If we took anything from the game it should be that UGA is not invincible. If we see them again it will be after these freshmen have a year of experience. UGA might have topped out three weeks ago. We at Clemson have nothing but everything in front of us.

I know people say you can't focus too much on "transitive property" in college football, so take this with "a grade of slaw." On the one hand, the Tigers recently defeated the Wildcats in a wild, back and forth game between what appeared to be, at least at that time, 2 very evenly matched teams. So, now that Kentucky played a 1-point game with Georgia, you could take as evidence that Clemson is capable of doing the same thing.
On the other hand, there's still no getting around what happened in Atlanta 2 weeks ago, so you could also take it to mean that Clemson is not only significantly worse than Georgia, but worse than Kentucky as well, and that Georgia isn't as dominant as we once thought, making that loss look worse.
However, I do think you have to keep in mind that the defense got worn down in the 2nd half due to getting absolutely no help, and in the 1st half they played well. The offense has also since discovered a better starting lineup and a lot more confidence, so you'd think that might make a difference as well. Overall, I agree with the initial sentiment that we shouldn't really read too much into it, but it is interesting to think about, I guess. Either way, after what we saw last week, I think the rest of the season holds a lot of great potential for Clemson, so I suggest we focus on looking forward to that.

Means "nada". It's a long season. Key injuries happen. Teams get better and improve from week to week.
Georgia is not who they will be when it counts yet; the same goes for Clemson.
You see this on a small scale yearly in High School.
Some early season scrimmage or out of conference game goes one way; but by the time the playoffs roll around "it's a totally new team and often different results"!
Nada!

you have to prepare EACH week for the team in front of you. Georgia stomps us,and then struggles mightily against Kentucky who got stomped the previous week by South Carolina who looked like crap the previous week against Old Dominion (0-3), who just got clobbered by V Tech, who lost their opener to Vandy who just lost to Georgia State!
Looks to me like every Monday, you better put on a new pair of britches and get ready for that weeks battle...

It means sometimes 19 year olds bring their A game and sometimes they don’t. Comparing week to week results really doesn’t mean much. Every week is a new opportunity with new motivation and new game plans.

We looked pretty human at times during the regular season in our championship runs. It happens.
I still can't help but think Dabo had us run a very simple game plan versus UGA in the opener knowing that if we live up to the potential he believes we have then we could very well see them again in the postseason, where it matters most. Neither of us would be the same team at that point, yet we would still have the sting of that early loss as a motivator and UGA would not.

They had the edge at QB, WR and in the secondary
If we played again with the new WR lineup and with Lewis in the secondary it’s a much closer game. Granted they were thin at RB, so it’s not like we were the only ones missing players.
I still think UGA is the better team but we are within 7-10 points of them on average if we played the game 100 times. So that’s within striking distance if the ball were to bounce our way a time or two.

UGA has a weak link. It's on their staff, Mike Bobo. After he leaves if UGA continues recruiting at the level they are I'm afraid it will be extremely hard to uproot them from being a dynasty.

For once I agree. Bobo is not creative at all. His Plan A never works (see first half vs Clem and UK). He lets the opposition set the tone early. How many times did we throw the ball past ten yards vs. Kentucky? It was five...and we completed four of them. He kept calling running plays up the middle when UK was stacking the box. We had 60 yards of offense in the first half. Pitiful.
UGA won't win it all with him as OC. If he does, I'll eat the crow.

Nothing for Clemson. Clemson wins the ACC they will be in with the new format. But it does help the SEC keep up their narrative that even the lowly teams in the SEC can beat all the other conferences. Just look at what Kentucky did to great and almighty Georgia.
