No Point in Bashing Stoudt Now

Nov 7, 2014, 8:08 AM

The Cole Stoudt era is more than likely over come the GaTech game next Saturday. While he wasn't great, he didn't hurt the team. He didn't let games get away, he simply managed them.

I'm not ignoring the fact that we literally have the best D in the country keeping us in the game, but it is what it is. Attacking the kid's play is petty at this point. We all know he doesn't possess the talent Tajh had or DW has. He went out there and did the best he could do while playing hurt because his team needed him. We're probably not gonna see him under center ever again as a Clemson Tiger.

So let's just all say thanks to Cole for being a strong leader and a mature young man who kept the train on the tracks in a tough situation.

“I love this place. I’ve got a spot already picked out where I want ‘em to put me when I die…up there on there on that ole hill near the stadium. I want to be there so I can hear all them people cheering my Tigers on Saturdays. Then I wont have to go to heaven. I’ll already be there.”-Frank Howard

Curious....

what was the "point" of bashing Cole even before last night?? Because he was trying to lead OUR Tigers behind a questionable OL with a sketchy, heavily injured RB position?? I've NEVER seen a college QB who didn't make mistakes...but, as the good Rev.Dodd enjoys relating, I thought Clemson fans were "better than that"....Looks like I was wrong too....on at least one count

Geville Tiger on Clemson football , "Dabo's only problem is he has to deal with turd fans questioning every move he makes.”

He did his best

Nov 7, 2014, 8:26 AM

Cole did his best. We offered him a scholarship, he accepted, and did his best on and off the field. Our coaches recruited him and coached him, and he - until Im told otherwise - played to the best of his ability. We should be thanking him and acknowledge what exactly that means. Has anyone heard one negative thing about his work ethic, character, etc?

Aside from the pick he played well

Nov 7, 2014, 8:48 AM

Actually had a nice run to pick up a big first down. The td to scott in traffic was a pretty throw.

Didn't Jimbo Fisher say WF had a really good defense? Not that we can believe anything Jimbo says, but I don't think their D is bad. All in all, Cole should be very proud of how he played.

I think setting the defense up in #### positions and making some of the decisions he has made did hurt the team. His inability to move the ball at UGA hurt the team, when clearly that uga defense is not as good as he made it look. That defense was incredible this year, can't help but feel like it was wasted Bc it wasn't Watson from day 1. Why would he pout ab being benched when the person putting him on the bench is clearly much better and runs the team so much better.
