Them likely being matched up with Iowa in the outback bowl (for like the 12th time in the last 13 years).
At least Michigan (who's historically a good team) made last year's win look relevant. This year? Nothing. Enjoy coots. Once again almost feel sorry for the poor baztards.

It's fixed. The flawed BCS era is over after this year. It failed to do it's intended purpose. It was supposed to pit the top 10 teams against each other in a set of premier bowls. The automatic qualifier and conference limit rules made it impossible to do that because only 2 of the SEC's normal 5 top 10 teams could get one while teams outside the top 10 got in by default. If the original purpose of the BCS had been carried out, Carolina would have been in the last 3 and Clemson wouldn't have been in any.

Wrong. The purpose of the BCS was to put the 2 most deserving teams in the national championship game. It has pretty much failed to do that as well.

I see their point but it isnt exactly like we control making this happen. Sometimes things work for you bowl wise and sometimes they dont.
The fact they wouldnt do so well this year bowl wise would not bother me at all if it happens that way

Music City, Russell Athletic, etc.
SEVERAL times.
ACC bowls are so crappy that we HAVE to be in the top 2 to go anything decent since the ACC lost the Gator Bowl (thanks Swoffie). At least the SEC has about 5 or 6 good destinations. Too bad for them that the Chickens go to the same one every year (Tampa) and basically play the same team (a clod-footed 3-loss Big 10 team).

We're no more jealous of the ACC runner up benefitting from NCAA welfare than I am of the guys at the soup kitchen getting a hot meal while I eat my cold sub sandwich that I earned! Why do you think the BCS is being done away with? They are tired of having to take the Clemsons and Northern Illinois's of the world when there are better teams available! Enjoy it, because it's the last year that your irrelevant conference gives you any advantage...

And the outback selects two spots higher than the ACC's first non-BCS game. You do realize that chic fil-a gets the 5th... I love that word... 5th SEC spot to ACC 2nd. So last years win over LSU is that much more special.

Tell me, what will you being saying if Clemson goes to the OB again and puts up a performance again like last OB? Is it worth it?
I am not either a Clemson or SC fan. I find it funny that Clemson fans really think they are relevant outside the ACC and state of SC in football. Arkansas used to be relevant but they are not longer and will not until the consistantly win their league. There are only a few teams that are of national relevance and Clemson, SC and Arkansas(my team) are not in that picture.
To be honest this is what makes college football the greatest sport because of the passion that goes along with every school.

I never said we where. I am just saying watch out what you wish for before blasting a team that has owned you for the past 5 years.
Lets give a little time to a coach who came into a difficult situation and is revamping a entire team. Petrino did not do Arkansas any favors.

Ok, lets just say that we can agree that we disagree.
Just answer this one thing, do you believe Clemson would benefit more being in the SEC or even the Big XII than the ACC?
My answer is yes only because of the reputation of the ACC right now, they may change a little with a FSU win but honestly does a FSU vs Duke matchup help or hurt the outlook of the ACC? Just want a honest opinion.

I do not believe so. If they start to produce, which it looks like Mike Anderson is turning the program around, then all will take care of it.
Has it hurt Florida during their run in basketball?

I will say one thing for sure and that is the NCAA tourny has it right, conference ties "usually" do not matter and they do a better job at looking at the entire body of work of a team. We have seen many teams with better winning records not let in for teams that have better quality wins.
Just with the playoffs for football will be a start of something better. Still think a 4 team playoff is going to have issues.

I don't think you're gonna find much debate here concerning the ACC and the perception, which is reality.
If UNC and Miami, along with VT can ever recover, I think the Coastal and East will be very comparable.
The additions of a decent Louisville and, what once was pretty good programs in Pitt and Syracuse, The ACC doesn't appear to be as gawd awful. Will VT remain an enigma?
Clemson is missing some ingredients that will be required to match FSU, in the Atlantic.
As was mentioned in another thread here, you'll see the playoff selection dismantle the SEC myth.

Sure, representing teams have dominated the MNC but, for the past twenty years, it's been 2, at best 3 teams carrying the water.
E$PN has perpetuated the whole trademark. Even lowly Clemson has been known to bust a Tennessee or LSU in the mouth.

Listen...I get sick of the SEC but that is a dumb statement to say that just 2-3 teams have been carrying the SEC the past 20 years. Since the BCS began 5 different SEC programs have won a national title. That is impressive. Most conferences only have 2 power teams at the most. The SEC is overrated this year but let's not be foolish with our statements about it the last 20 years. You give the coots more ammunition

What ACC team other than Florida State has won in the past 30 years. Your 1981 national title is the only other ACC team. You cannot count Miami because they were not part of the ACC.
Alabama, Florida, LSU, Aubrun, and Georgia have all won it since 1980.

I disagree but you are entitled to your opinion. The improvements that have occurred in "Cootlumbia" go far beyond just a coach. The money that comes from being in the SEC only means that it's going to get better.

one day these guys will stumble upon a competent coaching staff and your glory days will be a distant memory. Of course you already struggle with Tenn and they are horrific now. The 7-5 days will be back sooner rather than later.
But you'll have those sweet memories of those 4th place Obama-era years to savor and cherish. Hope you've bought up all those State newspaper commemorative issues to show your grandkids.

always had infrastructural, geographic, demographic, and potential financial advantages over us. Out historical domination over you seems to defy logic.
Without going -6 in the turnover margin, we had a very good chance of beating you this year. Our best player did more to hurt our chances against you than even your coaches well-laid plans.
We were the better team this year in every regard except turnover discipline. If you want rest your confidence on us losing the turnover battle every single year, then go ahead. You won because you are better coached, just like the previous 4 years.

did you watch the game? There was only one muffed punt. The second fumble on a punt was after he fielded it and tried to run and was stripped. Watkins had an int, Tajh had 2 and a fumble, and 2 off of the return guy, one of which was late in the second half...and I'm ignorant!

and that was the muff... you said 2 and you said in the first half, both of which were incorrect. The second fumble on the punt was during the return and he was stripped... or do I need to explain what a muff is. (Either definition is doubtable that you know)

side, but the turnovers were clearly more our fault than to your credit. It doesn't matter, because turnovers are a legitimate part of the game, so losing because of turnovers doesn't some how mean the loss was not legitimate.
But it does mean that your advantages in money have nothing to do with the reason you won. Coaching and a better QB won you that game.

More concerned about flaming Clemson than thirty own welfare. They better hope the bowl selection doesn't change much next year.
The big 10 and sec have the best and most profitable tie ins. They Get paid the most money regardless of records. A 6-6 USuC gets way more money than a 6-6 Clemson even if Clemson beats south Carolina 300 to 0...and they want tip change that.

Other than watching your team match up against a different opponent and killing time during the holidays, does anyone really get excited watching the bowls? Don't get me wrong, I enjoy watching my team play wherever we get sent, but I don't make it a point to watch any bowls outside of SC, Clemson, and the championship game.
I think you'd be hard pressed to get the average fan to name off last years bowl matchups and / or winners outside of those games mentioned above (championship, their game, rival).
Am I wrong?

will be more appealing games to the nation?
What if FSU beats OSU by 30? May lessen the blow of our 37 point loss in a game in which we gave them the ball on our 30 going in,after our 1st offensive snap, followed by tajh being stripped while rolling the wrong way, resulting in a scoop and score on our 2nd possession.... this after the #1 team in the country had an extra week to prepare.
And we were tied with lowly scar in the 4th with 4 turnovers, 2 self inflicted (at scar... holder of longest active home winning streak... which is a joke bc they haven't played aTm, Bama, LSU, or a healthy AU, UF or UGA team there in the past two years). Just funny they think they're a legit

I honestly am not saying anything about much SCar until we beat them again. They have earned the right to talk and say anything they want at this point.

I did more than attempt to troll, at first it was subtle, and even when I threw out a blatantly shiny hook, many of you still grabbed it and ran with it. No worries though I have posted many links to this board on the SEC board where everyone over laughs at this pathetic site and the posters on it. Many funnies were had, but i grow weary of watching the field mice scurry around, Think I will return to the land of competent people where at least a decent football conversation can be had without the what if's, woulda, shoulda, couldas....

Desperately trying to assure your superiority over us? Sounds a bit defensive to me. An overly defensive approach normally means your normally lying about that which you claim to be true. Link this thread all you want, fact of the matter is ( trying not to laugh) the Mizzouri Tigers just won your division, aka... joke's on you bc your program has reached it's ceiling. Every other sec school is making the same amount of $ as you are, they're recruiting better, they (like you) have little to no regard for rules and thus will also be juiced up, and their 3&4 star juicers will outperform your 2&3 star juicers, unfortunately. You'll never make the playoff so long as it stays at four teams, and if it ever moves to 8, we'll be there waiting for your once in a decade appearance to throttle your ### when we BOTH actually have something on the line.

Clemson was a military school, that definitely gave you an advantage in football in the early years.
Secondly, that's just blind homerism to believe the only reason you lost was because of turnovers.

With the bowl tie-ins, it is very difficult to get a BCS bowl in the SEC if you are not in the championship game. Sucks, but true. Don't believe me, check out the bowl tie-ins.
In fact, being in the championship game doesn't even guaratee a BCS bowl game...when they were in that game in 2010, they went to the chick-fil-a.
Here is a crazy stat...they have been to the SEC title game in the past 4 years as many times as Bama has...including 2013

Your tiger pulse is high bc there's THAT many pathetic fgf lurkers in here thumbs upping every dumb ### post you make. LSU game was special since they were one play away from a natty title appearance. Unlike when usc jr made it there after being about 35 play away such a game. Remember AU won 56-17? It was embarrassing for the whole state. At least we took em into OT on their home terf that year to make the state look a lil less pathetic.

Is what you're claiming you do? I call bull ##### times a thousand. First off, picking up dry cleaning for an irrelevant non-doctorate type of employee working under a physician is unrealistic. That all the talk about the bowl game being the outback is retarded considering the two most likely destinations are capital one or cotton bowl.

Just told you... bc A. you're full of ##### and B. You're not smart enough to have 2 clemson grads working under you

The unintelligible aspect is quite clearly based strictly on your posts in the forum. Only you could possibly maintain such a position is if your parents own the place or are best friends with those that do. Either way, the clemson dry cleaning claim is far from very far from the truth.

Gotta admit, you guys going to the Orange Bowl stings ! But that's what we get playing in the SEC and having a two team limit on the BCS. That noise is going away, so......ICE UP SON ! You got Bama on the horizon, don't worry about us Coots !

USC will be in cotton or capital one. We don't even have to beg either. Aw schucks, they actually just want us.

I've heard more Clemson fans complaining about losing 5 straight than Gamecock fans complaining about their bowl selection.
Recent word is that they are going to the Cotton bowl. I'll believe it when I see it and think the end up in the Chickfila Bowl.
Either way it doesn't look likely that they go back to Tampa this year

But every professional college football analyst I've seen thus far has LSU and Mizzou in Cap1 & Cotton. Some project aTm in cotton... but none that I've seen show usc jr anywhere other than outback or chic fil a bowl against duke or or a banged up miami... LOL. Hilarious.

Well this is just wishful thinking. They only lose two starters on offense

...and one of those guys was your entire offense against us.
Add that with a defense that won't be able to stop a high school team and other SEC teams recruiting at a much higher level and you end up with SC not even being bowl eligible.

Shaw's ability to run the ball was a big part of the offense. But suggesting they aren't going to make a bowl is clearly wishful thinking. Replacing both starting CBs will be difficult but the rest of the defense will be solid.
