Only thing concerns me if he takes this is a last ditch effort at Lawrence. Kid was a Vol fan growing up and originally committed there. Could get interesting this next month

I did a quick google search, and Lawrence wasn't committed to Tennessee, but he did grow up a Tennessee fan, and grew up an hour from there. I still don't see it as a concern though. He's been a Clemson commit for a long time now, and it Tennessee wasn't even the team that finished #2 for him. He's also only a month or two away from enrollowing, and Tennessee hasn't even hired a coach at this point.

Hunter Johnson flipped from TENN to Clemson.

TL was never a UT commit. His decision was between Clemson and UGA.

Isn't Lawrence enrolling next month?

Also, not saying this rumor couldn't possibly turn out to be true, but we see this type of thing out there with pretty much every major job opening. It's right up there with the dream coach or his agent being seen in the area looking at houses.

Endorsements and advertising dollars dry up if coaching any single NCAA or NFL team.

Plus your work hours double unless you are Steve Spurrier.

Gruden would be an idiot to take that job

and Gruden is no idiot.

He makes more at ESPN than they could pay him
He works fewer hours at ESPN than at any college
He doesn't have to recruit
He doesn't have to deal with 17 year olds
He doesn't have to deal with college kids and discipline
He doesn't have to deal with the NCAA
He doesn't have to deal with the limited number of hours players have to practice

I could see him coaching again some day, but only in the NFL.
