My opinion is that his confidence is down from his freshman year and that he has placed too much pressure on himself. Just my thought, the ability and talent are certainly there.

He's hitting .286, not world beater batting average but it's solid. I do agree that he struggles hitting anything but the fastball. I figured that's why they had him hitting 2nd, expecting that Ingle would be on base and that would get him more fastballs. Problem is, Ingle is not a base stealer. Grice is a 6th or 7th place hitter and we (and he) need to stop expecting the same results he had as a true freshman because folks have figured him out. He has to learn to adjust to what the pitchers are throwing and the umpires are calling.

He needs to be in the bottom of the lineup to work on things. He can't hit anything other than a fastball and teams picked that up quick.

They need to do something bc scoring and hitting hasn't been the issue. Pitching along with the tendency to kick the frigging ball around is this teams issue. I like Bakich though. This program will get better under him.

For a 6'6", 250lb 1st baseman he is showing no power. He is capable but struggling, mightily!
