A lot of you have been confused about if the FSU/ACC comments are true. Well here it is. Looks like their AD is a smart guy. I read elsewhere that FSU is getting roughly about $30-35 million a year from the ACC, while SEC pays $80 million, and the BIG10 pays $75 million.

I do not think FSU would single-handedly do anything by themselves because they likely wouldn’t want to pay an exit fee by themselves. But if the Noles eventually seriously want to just get out, Clemson must as well. The payout is ridiculous. The ACC has great tradition, but it’s plain and simple not meeting the standards that allows Clemson to stay atop college football (our biggest revenue sport).

If FSU and CLEM can be whole financially

after 3-4 years of bolting the ACC then let’s do it. The long term financial gains of joining the SEC now (while we’re still attractive to them) make a great deal of sense IMO

Baloney! Let them go! We don't need them. We ae in much better financial shape than FSU. We need to stay put-regardless. Big things are in store for the ACC not too far down the road. Just be patient and you will see.

I’m curious, what gives you hope that something good for the ACC is just around the corner?

Great question….the only possible outcome that would

Feb 25, 2023, 9:17 AM

save the ACC is Notre Dame joining as a football member (and that most likely ain’t happening)

I'm sure the other ACC schools would be happy for FSU and Clemson to leave and pay them the exit fee plus take all the money they earn from TV until 2036.

The catch has been, and continues to be, what a court would rule on the Grant of Rights. I doubt there is any school anywhere that has $120 million just sitting around to pay for leaving their conference. This is a very complicated situation but I still say the difference in the revenue has not hurt us, yet at least. Clemson has spent, and is spending unknow millions on facilities and I do no believe we are lacking in anything in athletic infrastructure. It is amazing what has been built the last 10-15 years at Clemson.

The most important part

Is their whole administration is on the same page. We all know the President of Fst said last year they were ready to bounce.

I hope we have that same mentality around here! Let’s go do this and get on to the SEC!

Really as it concerns spending vs UGHAY, the ACC has more

Feb 25, 2023, 9:46 AM

net funding as UGHAY spends 80% of their money fending off wrongful death and sexual assault charges for their thugs. So there is that.
