Does anyone have any experience with Reqtec grill vs a Traeger. I am going to purchase a pellet grill here soon and was wondering if anyone has any opinions on these.

so far so good. keeps consistent temp.
app/probe/wireless is probably where it excels imo.
i was able to smoke ribs for 7 hrs with only a few trips to the grill to wrap and unwrap.

cant speak to rectec.

probably my only beef is they shouldve included things like the drop down front with the grill.

I have their smoker, and it is magnificent. Heard great things about their pellet grills too.

If you go Traeger don’t go cheap they definitely come in 2 quality levels

ReqTec has a great reputation

Go to Amazingribs.com and read the reviews

There’s a bunch of head to head videos on YouTube and they seem to come down about 50-50

If you get the 'good' Traeger

it is a fine grill. Costco has deals on them sometimes, so I would check them.

Either one and you will be fine though.

Now, you reminded me I need to clean my grill....

My FIL has a rectec and loves it. A friend has a traeger and he's a little bish, so he can't speak to it as he's only used it a handful of times

Not sure if you've bought one yet, but I came from an offset, and after looking at a bunch of different ones landed on Recteq. After assembly, it's pretty clear that Recteq is built wayyyyy better than the cheap Traeger, Pit Boss, Camp Chef, etc. I'm not here to dog anything out, because they are all in different prices ranges and you are going to kind of reflect that, but I'll say the Recteq is in a weird unique spot IMO where it is built like higher end ones like the timberline but it's cheaper. There's just not much around 1000 that really competes with it. Either you're cheaper and cheaper build quality or you're more expensive and similar or better build quality. The Weber Smokefire is close but not quite the same, large cheap traeger us close but build is definitely not on par. 6 year warranty leads the industry too.

end of season close-out from walmart. I think I gave about $100 for it. It's probably normally about $500.

I kept it outside for a few years and it started to rust. I sanded it down, hit it with some flat grill paint, and moved it inside of my pool cabana (along with wiring in a barn exhaust fan to draw out the smoke). Now it seems like it might last forever.

Brother has a RecTec. It's not bad, but he almost never uses it. He has some sort of off-brand Big Green Egg that he got off of FB marketplace.
