^^^I agree^^^

Nov 16, 2012, 12:41 PM

So what happens to the other teams if Goose Creek Wins and is them deemed ineligible?!?!

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Make it idjit proof and someone will make a better idjit.

Re: I would assume the losing team would be reinstated

Nov 16, 2012, 12:44 PM

but that is just my conjecture. I have no first hand knowledge

badge-donor-05yr.jpgringofhonor-74tiger.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

There could be two at that point. Conway from the 1st round

Nov 16, 2012, 1:09 PM

and Bluffton from 2nd round tonight. Which would move on? Would they have to play each other at that point?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yep. That is the definition of a cop out.***

You are right...as much of a cluster **** as it is now it

Nov 16, 2012, 1:55 PM [ in reply to Re: Goose Creek gets to play...could still be deemed ineligible ]

will be an even bigger cluster **** if they win and then lose Monday. GC should have waited until after the playoffs (or until they lost) to self report.

What a bunch of cry babies

Hopefully they get disqualified again.

While I seldom agree with you................

Nov 16, 2012, 12:57 PM

and I'm not anti-Goose Creek or anything close to that nature....IMO, the judge erred in his decision. Goose Creek should have simply accepted the decision of the SCHSSL and moved on. AND, during this off-season, there should have been a huge movement to overhaul and revamp the entire ruling body of South Carolina High School sports.

This decision makes a bad situation worse.

What?

So Coach Reedy should let those young men who've worked their tails off for him all year just go home, without a fight? For something they had no part in?

If you've read what happened, I don't see how you can say that about these kids. Reedy even offerred to resign if they would let his kids play.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Totally agree, if SCHSL would use some common sense,

Nov 16, 2012, 1:58 PM

they would have ruled GC eligible on Wednesday.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

still waiting on byrnes to get DQ for doing the same thing***

Nov 16, 2012, 12:46 PM

For serious.

Goose creek

Nov 16, 2012, 1:10 PM

First that's not his name they are protecting the kid:) 2nd the court ruled they could play tonight and have to meet again Monday at 5 pm for the following weeks playoffs. The judge is not in agreeing with the SCHSL and "giving them another opportunity to vote." He's basically showing them what they should have done in the first place!!

Re: Goose creek

Nov 16, 2012, 1:25 PM

1) A Berkeley county judge gave a favorable ruling to a Berkeley County school against the HSL. See how easy it is to run to a friendly judge and get an injunction.

2) Judge really waffled and gave no basis for overturning but ordered HSL to hear "new evidence" by 5PM in Monday. Wanna bet the HSL hears new evidence in an open forum and still holds GC out.

3) Assuming GC wins tonight and then loses Monday which is a very safe bet, who goes on 1st round loser Conway or 2nd round loser Bluffton.

The entire thing is now officially a cluster.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Disagree, he said that the kids eligibility should not have

Nov 16, 2012, 2:03 PM

began running until 2010 when he first stepped on campus. Basically gave the SCHSL a way to save face and not set a huge precedence since they can say the kid was technically eligible. Let's face, how many special needs kids that has been under group home education plays sports?

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

this was a fair decision

Nov 16, 2012, 4:23 PM [ in reply to Re: Goose creek ]

if this judge was truly friendly to goose creek, he would have ruled more decisively in their favor. This seems like a fair decision considering the circumstances. He explained that the SCHSL eligibility rules are poorly structured and that it needs a transparent, open process if it is to have any credibility, which was a nice shot at the SCHSL's closed door decision making process. There is really no way the HSL can rule against Goose Creek next week, the judge has set in motion a clear path for them to reverse their decision.

Nice to see someone stand up and challenge this group, who from all accounts, haven't dealt with folks in a very open, fair manner.
