But I bet he couldn't tackle a 6-4 220lb QB... you get my drift. How can you coach players to do something you can't do yourself? Our D may be one of the most talented in the country and it's heart breaking to know Goodwin is coaching these guys. Missing Jimmy Greenbeans in a bad way. He was a real coach

Obviously you must be the special one using Saban as an example. He was a player. So was Spurrier, so was Dabo, so was Venebles and so were MOST great coaches. Not all former players pan out as coaches but they have different insights than a someone who's never taken a snap. What I'm saying is Venables was a real coach and will be missed
Grisham is a former player and he's a bust

w/o having played it. But I think his system is a little too much. Like Kevin Steele's. BV used a simplified D that allowed the players to play aggressively with less thinking.

but an ankle injury kept him from playing college football. He also had a decade of college coaching experience before he got his first P5 coordinator job.
