For everyone yelling about Dabo not beating South Carolina

Yes he is 1-4 vs South Carolina and Spurrier is 5-3 vs Clemson. At one point, at the end of the 2008 season Steve Spurrier was 1-3 vs Clemson. Nobody is more disappointed than me. I can guarantee you that I never thought I'd see the day they beat us 4 in a row.
I said all that to say this. Dabo's record vs South Carolina can turn around just like Spurrier's record vs Clemson turned around. Tommy Bowden was 7-2 vs South Carolina, but Bowden did not face the type of South Carolina teams Dabo is facing. Dabo has had to face the three best South Carolina teams in their entire history, save 1984. He has had to face an SEC east division winner in 2010, an 11-win team in 2011 and a 10-win, maybe 11-win team this year. There has never been another Clemson coach that has had to face them at their peak and it will be the peak.
Dabo is a better coach than any we've had since Danny and any before Danny. You can say that this offense is not good, but when have you ever seen Clemson put up numbers like they have last year and this year. South Carolina has a great defense with great players on it. I hope they would take a dip this year with a change in coordinators, but they didn't.
Dabo is a great football coach for Clemson and he will get his wins vs South Carolina before all is said and done. Something happened to kill our defense under Steel in 2011 and we are trying to come back from that. I think we took positive steps this year.
Bottom line is Dabo is a good coach that works very hard and is a great leader. His offensive coordinator is a good one. And I believe Venables will improve the defense. South Carolina has been a tough nut to crack in the last four years for Dabo. But he is not alone. I know it won't make you feel better but South Carolina has won three straight vs Georgia and 4 of 5. They have won 3 of last 4 vs Florida, they have won 3 or 4 straight vs Tennessee. Steve Spurrier at the end of his 3rd year in Columbia in 2008 was 1-3 vs Clemson. He lost 2005, won 2006, lost 2007 and 2008.

It's not tolerable, but the fact that South Carolina has been better than us the last 4 years is correlated with the fact that they've been better than they've been in their entire history. We have to measure our program against our own program, not against theirs.
We *are* making progress. We had back-to-back 10 win seasons, and have a ton of young talent. Let's at least wait until we have a bad season to bring out the coach-firing brigade.

PERIOD
and to your point of bowden not facing the type of SCar teams dabo has.............well.........CLEMSON supposedly has gotten A LOT better as well........trust me the on paper talent difference is about the same and doesn't justify the absolute BEAT DOWNS they've given us the last 4 years.........beat them next year or it's time for him to GO......Sorry

Been improving as well. Last night was on the coaches. We changed our tempo the first time we had the ball, almost as if we were scared to go too fast because we had to be sure we did not screw up. Tempo was the advantage we had and you could tell it caused an offense with no rhythm.

quality of the program rebuilt by TB is more than enough time to show significant improvement, which he has not.
We need to show up in our BCS bowl too. Not just be happy to be there.

the last 4 SCar losses either.
We're slightly better than we were under TB, but SCar has passed us. They didn't have a choice. It was either, improve greatly or get manhandled in the SEC. We're a step ahead most of the ACC for sure, but there's not that type of urgency for us.

And will you feel the same way if he loses 5 in a row, which is a great possibility considering we have to go there next year. Oh,and when did two wrongs ever make a right? I doubt many of us here care what Spurriers record is aginst UGA,Florida,or Tennessee. And see I didn't yell!

...my memory's fuzzy, but didn't we beat UGA four times in a row, 86-89, first time Clemson's ever done that? And then, all of a sudden Ford's gone, and we haven't beaten UGA since...

Here is the problem Clemson is facing with Dabo. He fits from a personality standpoint. Recruits as good as anyone in the country. Becauae of that recruiting, he is going to win 9-10 games a year just by rolling the balls out in an ACC where all but Clemson and FSU are mediocre on their best day. But then Dabo rarely wins a game on the few occasions he has to make a statement. This year was in essence a two game season. And everyone knew it coming in. Lost both games that would elevate Clemson. Now everyone seems to feel all giddy running up and down the field against Duke, Wake, Maryland, and the rest of the awful conference lineup. Think about it. The signature win for this season probably is Ball State. The schedule is what it is. Cannot be responsible for the other conference programs. But to take this program to the next level you have to win a big game somewhere along the line.

The real difference is that this is CLEMSON. We shouldn't have to settle for mediocrity. This isn't SCAR that is used to winning 5 or 6 games a year and making a crappy bowl every 4th year.
We have standards, and these coaches are being paid very well, and knew what it was like here before they signed on. As in, the highest paid coordinators in the nation well.

Gamecock fan here. I gotta say, i was there and i enjoyed myself so much. Not just because of the W. I met so many nice folks outside the stadium and was given love leaving from the upper deck all the way to my car. Will return the class and respect if given the chance. Heres to the stinkiest rivalry in college football. Go #####!
Oh, and please don't get rid of Dabo. Whats up with the late punt?
