Clemson/Tech is one of the best rivalries in the South. I'd hate to see it end. I hope we stay in the ACC and figure out a way to keep everyone happy. I'm having a hard time believing that we're going to the B1G. Just don't believe it, honestly.

markets gone in the matter of weeks. It doesn't matter that the state of Maryland might be more pro-oriented and that UGA is the top dog in the state of Georgia. The TV people will not look favorably towards the ACC, losing those 2 markets.

is demonstrates a lack of confidence in the leadership in the ACC and further a punitive $50 million buyout still does not deter schools from leaving.

Look for FSU to go to B12 and VT and NCS to SEC.

Not a matter of "if", but "when". I believe within the next year, those moves will be announced. I would expect that the University of Cinncinnati, UCONN, South Florida and Temple to become members of the ACC in the near future.

Seems to me, that the ACC has been taking teams from a conference in trouble and the ACC will be heading down the same road as the Big East.

No, not really...

We'd be so geographically isolated, it would be ridiculous. Here's my preference in order:
1) ACC works it out. Tweaks divisional alignments. STays together, with Clemson/FSU/GT all intact and remaining.
2) If things don't, then Tech goes to the SEC. That won't happen unless it's a defensive move by Slive. And I don't think we'd have enough support within the SEC.
3) B1G. Not likely to happen, IMO. I know the rumors are EVERYWHERE. But it just doesn't smell right to me.
4) B12. This is far and away our worst option...except for #5.
5) ACC falls apart, but Tech remains in the ACC. I'd go ahead and slit my wrist if this happened.

It's just that I don't see Tech as being on the leading edge of that change. I'm more likely to buy into UVA, UNC or FSU leaving before us.
I know we have a few things that the B1G wants. We give them access to a huge TV market, and a state hugely rich in recruiting. We don't hurt their academics at all (probably help it, actually), and we're AAU. But it still just seems too far to me. If I were the B1G and I wanted to move South, I'd be looking in Virginia & North Carolina.
If we leave the ACC, the thing I will miss the most is our rivalry with Clemson. I'm not saying that just to kiss up to you guys. I mean it. That game means a lot to me, and I'd hate to lose it. It's the best rivalry in the conference, IMO.

I doubt it will happen but we need for Clemson, FSU, GT, and State to stay together. Maybe move to the Big 12 if there is an invitation.

I'm guessing the ACC will see the writing on the wall. IF Maryland wins a lawsuit to escape paying the buy-out it will be tied up in court for so long that it will effect whether or not any else leaves.

Big 10 has only added adjacent states to exsisting schools. I don't see this happening. Really doesn't make sense. Why would GT want to be the only southern school in a midwest/northern conf?
