Seems like they need to raise the price at Cooterville. Maybe would curb some of the battery throwing.
Maybe Clemson could introduce the sale of beer starting at $14.00/cup to stop all of the halftime passes and alcohol smuggled in the stadium.
Seems like a reasonable compromise and we would be #1 in the price of a stadium beer.

If not, this news only alerts the typical procrastinating fan to wisely purchase his hard drugs and liquor a couple of days prior to any type of entertainment event. Also, that beer is better as a post game cocktail to even you back out after 18hrs straight hrs of vodka & cranberry + combo of drugs that are not marijuana-

You may be too young to remember, but my fond memories of game day in the stadium was the strong presence of cigar smoke...of course, had it been smoked right in front of me maybe I would not have approved (as a 6 year old).

I would welcome beer being sold in stadium, and liquor for that matter. Hire extra security with profits for the adults that can't be responsible. As a student, saw plenty of irresponsible actions when nothing was sold in stadium.

Not sure I care either way about us selling. I don't feel like our games at pro stadiums are really any different given the availability of alcohol there. And if it brings in a few mil more $$, go for it. Everybody around me, whether they pregamed, brought in minibottles, or bought beer from Clemson, will be drunk regardless.

Yet amazingly, allowing people to drink at their tailgate and come into the stadium drunk doesn’t affect it at all.

Could also reduce issues with alcohol because people don't have to binge before hand because they are able to continue drinking through the game.

Also, people who want to drink are going to drink. It's easiest to sneak in liquor which inarguably gets you more drunk. If those people are now drinking beer they would be less inebriated.

Off hand, I'd say a study tracking complaints, fan removals, any increases/decreases in criminal intoxication, DUIs, etc. Perhaps some surveys, I dunno. But seems like they could easily study the impact of alcohol sales given how many schools have allowed for it in recent times.

No beer sales inside stadiums leads to binge drinking at tailgates beforehand. Also, the high price of beer inside tends to limit the amount people drink inside.

On the other hand, I was at the 2016 ACCCG in Orlando and there were two really drunk Clemson fans there and kept spilling beer a few rows behind us and there was a river of it flowing down that was disgusting and smelled awful.

Anyway, I'm not convinced that selling beer in the stadium would actually lead to more drunk idiots in games, but drunk idiots with cups of beer are more obnoxious than drunk idiots without cups of beer to dump everywhere...

I personally don't see drunks having a good time being the issue. I think it is more of the spilled beer (also spilling on others) and smell that makes it less family oriented.

Kids know what beer is. They see commercials on TV. They see their parents drinking it at home. They see people drinking it while tailgating.

Of course no one wants beer spilled on them, but then again, no one wants soda spilled on them either. Should we not sell soda in the stadium either? Is spilling soda on someone ruining our family atmosphere too?

Let’s not stop at beverages though. How about profanity? That isn’t consistent with a family atmosphere, yet it’s heard throughout Death Valley during games. It’s part of our cheers, yet I don’t see people up in arms over profanity, concerned that it ruins our family atmosphere. And I’d argue that profanity is worse than beer when it comes to affecting the family atmosphere we pride ourselves on.

I say all of this as someone who doesn’t drink beer. I have zero desire to drink a beer in Death Valley. I just think it’s ridiculous that so many people think selling it somehow makes Clemson football impure and calls into question our “family atmosphere.” It reminds me of people who were so against a state lottery but had no problem with video poker, or people who got all upset when stores were allowed to open on Sunday before 1:00 PM.

I'm fine with never seeing that happen at Clemson ever. Not saying it would happen to every single person that would buy a beer inside but I still don't want to ever see Clemson become like NFL stadiums and have a stadium full of people who can't seem to control themselves because of their bad drinking habits.Don't have alcohol sales now and still see people after drinking outside coming in and want to start fights, then proceed to get in one and also have those that can't stand up straight going up or down steps and some vomiting like I saw twice last season in my section.Just can imagine how much worse it would be if alcohol was sold inside.

The no selling beer crusade is really boring. It also seems un-American to so obviously want to control what other people do. And the reasons that are always cited to support a ban on beer in our stadium are specious at best. All the fuss about being able to leave the stadium at halftime and return is also boring and a waste of time, effort and energy.

I like beer and drinking during tailgating most of the time, but if I can't have fun without it and need to whine because someone does not serve me beer everywhere I go I have a problem and am an incomplete person. So what if they don't serve beer? I doubt I will die of the DT's before the end of the game.

Personally I don't want beer dumped on me inside of the game. I don't want the stands stinking of spilled beer and puke either. I already end up standing the entire time because people won't sit which is okay, I can deal with that. I don't need another irritation though. We already draw from the same genetic pool as Georgia and Carolina, we don't need to encourge our fans to start acting the same way. It's a slippery slope into being indistinguishable.

1) People have been drunk as skunks at games from tailgating since the games started; selling beer in the stadium won't create or exacerbate a problem that doesn't already exist. Studies (WV in 2017, Google "The Impact of Alcohol Sales in A College Football Stadium on Healthcare Utilization") have shown alcohol-related incidents have gone down or at worst stay the same by selling beer in the stadium AND by no longer...

2) Letting people leave at halftime, chug a bunch of God knows what and come back. STOP DOING THAT and charge the ones who were already always drunk anyways a nice, profitable amount to get smaller amounts of alcohol instead (2 beer limit, beer is lower ABV than most parking lot punch). Which nicely leads into...

3) Clemson doesn't make a cent on people getting hammered in the parking lot. They could by selling beer in the stadium.

4) But I don't want beer spilled on me! Shame beer only comes in wide-mouth plastic cups, like the ones from which I see soda spilled EVERY. SINGLE. GAME. Somebody should research a vessel with a smaller opening for drinks; bet that would take off.

5) Our family atmosphere? You clearly don't go anywhere near the student section, 50% of all tailgates, the visitor's section, or have your fingers out of your ears any time the refs blow a call. Only wholesome, Christian vernacular from our crowd every time THAT happens. Stadium beer would not make things any worse.

All that to say, none of us have any power over whether or not DV beer happens, but if it does, games will hardly change.
