Matt Leinhart, Ryan Leaf, Johnny Manziel: The list of good to great college football QB's who flamed out in the NFL is long.
DJU was never great and only good in a few games in his college career. The odds that an NFL team wastes a draft pick on him are slim and none.

Charlie Ward played in the NBA and not NFL.
Andre Ware had 4 seasons. Tom Couch 5 seasons. Jemarcus Russell dumb and out of shape anyway.
Schuler had 6 seasons which isn't bad.

Forgot to add the other.. Ryan Leaf 4 seasons. Leinart 6 seasons which is solid. Manziel had 2 seasons. Drugs, booze, head case, could have been a backup.

And Ward COULD have played for almost anyone in the NFL. Wouldn’t list him as a flame out. He chose correctly when he chose the nba. He made his money and saved his brain from cte.

I think DJU is a decent guy but unlikely to make NFL. No animosity towards him***

You underestimate teams willing to take a late-round flyer on a case like DJU.
Personally, I wouldn't draft him and think he's probably a UDFA at best based on production. However, measurables will always tempt teams because they believe "I can try to fix him and BOOM! What a steal."

and don’t harbor resentment toward him for not being perfect as Clemson’s QB.

You could do the same exercise for any other position as well. Most high performers in college flame out in the pros.

With his arm strength I honestly wouldn't be too surprised to see someone take a flier on him in a late round. I mean Logan Thomas was drafted lol. But honestly he'd be better off just going undrafted and trying to sign on with a team that has a great QB coach and a veteran QB he can learn behind.

Correction on Charlie Ward.

He never was in the NFL. He was never drafted. Never signed as a free agent.
He went from being a two sport star at FSU into the NBA where he had a long and very successful career.
(I won't bore you with the details of why he chose the NBA over NFL.)
However, you make a good point. If he had gone into the NFL, he probably would have never done more than carry a clipboard. He was in the time where the NFL would consider a small athletic QB who made things happen with his feet. He was way before Lamar Jackson and way after Fran Tarkenton.
