Getting screwed by ESPN on game time, both teams stink yet

They put us at night so gamecocks can get a little more advantage of a sauced up crowd. But playing Wake, let’s play it at noon……

Clemson vs SC has never been a big deal. It has always just been an "also ran" on a day with much bigger and better matchups. It is the equivalent of saying Tenn vs Vanderbilt is an important rivalry and big deal.

If you're talking about this coming week then the Clemson/Wake game is on at 12 when no other big games are taking place. The South Carolina/Auburn game is on at the same time as the Oregon/Utah game on ABC which is a game with CFP implications. The thought of a game being viewed as bigger based on how late in the day it comes on is false. The channel the game is on and the other games being played during that time is a bigger factor.

The point is fan engagement and home field advantage. An attempt to give an advantage, no matter how small, to sway the outcome of the game, not how many people watch it. I don’t think it will matter much, but it does seem deliberate and we often get the short end of the stick from our friends at eSECpn.

Is that why the last two games we've played against South Carolina in Clemson have been night games? Or why we've had key home games in recent years against ND(2015) Louisville(2016) and Auburn(2017) be night games?

Plus if your point is trying to find reasons that ESPN is using start times for games as a way to help teams gain an advantage then you can use that logic the other way around. ESPN selected our game with UCONN to start at 12 and made Wake play NC State at 7:30 which gave us 7 and a half extra hours to rest. They're doing the same this week by giving us an extra 7 hours over South Carolina. They even tried to give us an entire extra day of rest before the Pitt game but sadly it wasn't enough.

The game against Wake is on ESPN. The game against South Carolina is on the SECN. You do realize they view the Wake game as a bigger matchup, right?

Thiis matchup has little interest outside of the state of South Carolina. SEC network would prefer a better match up. But evidently CBS, mothership ESPN, et al have taken the better games.
