Dec 27, 2021, 11:12 AM [ in reply to Symptomatic? ]

It's not about health anymore, it's about numbers and public appearance, as well as outdated policies from last year when we didn't know as much as we know now and there were no vaccines. It's really, really stupid.

The game scheduled for Cameron should be moved to Clemson if no make up date for Littlejohn. That is all. Oh wait, we saw from 2020 football it doesn't happen that way.... See "SEC cancels all non conference games".

More people should try harder to encourage family and friends that's not vaccinated to just vaccinate bc enough time has went by to squash they're original excuses that not enough is known, or they haven't been approved by FDA. Most all vaccines have now been FDA approved, the same folks that has to approve any other medication that has to be approved. But, I would bet that some of a lot of the same people refusing the vaccine just playing the Mr I'm tough game, just to get noticed by others, well, they are being Mr tough and getting noticed for all the wrong reasons, covid is a very serious virus that can kill anyone, young, healthy, and the strong just as quick as it does the weak, and sick if it get a hold on you, it can, it will, and it already has killed some of the ones that said it can't hurt me, and they are pushing up Daisy's, or become worm food right now!!!

If they’re young and healthy, it doesn’t matter. If they’ve already had Covid, it doesn’t matter, they’re already vaccinated.

It does not kill young, healthy people. Pretending it does is counterproductive to getting the right people protected because it breeds mistrust.

It is extremely contagious and is deadly to old people, fat people, and people with other health conditions. If you fall into one of those categories or have close, regular contact with someone who is, you really should be vaccinated. It’s your body your choice at the end of the day, don’t cede that to the state

In a few years we will all be saying/hopefully will be saying, "Remember when they used to cx games because of covid".
It's something we will have to learn to live with and carry on or choose to shut everything down and not function. And I'm not being insensitive to those that have lost loved ones, just stating that the world will have to continue to operate....the sports world too. It's not leaving.

Well, the ACC is so bad that if not played

Dec 27, 2021, 11:35 AM

Clemson will not play a home game against a ranked ACC or OOC team. We will only play 1 game all regular season against a currently ranked team. @ Duke on Jan 25.

Embarrassing how bad the ACC has gotten.

Our strength of schedule will be a problem if we win enough to be in the mix for a NCAA invite.

Why not play FSU or UNC this week? Try to get a game in

Dec 27, 2021, 12:15 PM

If we let open slots go when we are healthy, we just lose the opportunity later. The only way this can be rescheduled is if we stay healthy and our opponent and Dukes opponent cancel at the same time. If we go ahead and knock out another game on our schedule, it gives a potential opening for a makeup later on. If things keep going like this, we will need those opportunities to make up games. We are liable to miss 5-6 games at the rate they are being cancelled now

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Why not play FSU or UNC this week? Try to get a game in

Dec 27, 2021, 12:54 PM

No doubt. Let FSU come in on Wednesday instead of their cancelled @ BC, then use the Feb 2nd game date (FSU @ Clemson) to reschedule Duke, and FSU and BC can push their reschedule to Feb 3rd to keep the flow correct.

Let's play some ball, y'all.

Go Tigers.

Just more kabuki theater!

Dec 27, 2021, 12:22 PM

Facts:

1. A positive Covid test does that mean you have Covid.

2. In two years roughly 1500 people 25 and under died from Covid in America.

3. In two years roughly 500 people 18 and under have died from Covid in America. Almost all of them had comorbidities, predominantly obesity and diabetes.

4. The seasonal flu kills far far more people every year in America under the age of 25 then Covid!

I have been saying since early last year this is mostly BS. And we now have two years worth of data that supports everything I have been posting. This has been and is about money, power, and control! Anyone that can’t see that is brainwashed!

The vaccine is nothing more than a glorified flu shot. It doesn’t stop me from getting Covid. It doesn’t prevent you from spreading it. Natural immunity is better than the vaccine! Young healthy people don’t need a vaccine and should not be getting a vaccine. Masking has little to no effect on Covid. You don’t need a mask outside. Shut downs do very little. All of this has been nonsense and the cure has been infinitely worse than the virus on the economy and on peoples lives especially young people and children. All of this is fact supported by data!

Dude more children have committed suicide over the last two years because of Covid that have died from Covid! Get your head out of your ### and stop being stupid and brainwashed. Family businesses have been destroyed lives have been destroyed go look at the rates of suicide and addiction over the last two years. You people are so brainwashed and so stupid!

This is an experimental vaccination that children don’t need and the vaccination has more risk than Covid to children.

If you were vaccinated why do you care what someone else does? If you think someone else’s vaccination status has any effect on you then you’re admitting the vaccine doesn’t work! Because if you’re vaccinated why do you care what someone else does or does not do?

A rational person would not care if other people are vaccinated if they are vaccinated and they believe in the vaccine.

You People are absolutely brainwashed and are stupid and everything you’re saying is just total gibberish and nonsense medically and scientifically.

Trump cut through the red tape to get this pushed through and the Democrats were hell bent on not taking it because it came out under the Trump administration, but once Brandon was on board and mandates it’s everyone should take it. People have their own minds and bodies and if they do not want to inject something into their system that has no history you call them Trumptards? Herman Cain was an old Man with health issues. He very likely could and would have died even with a vaccine. Dec 27, 2021, 3:13 PM

So, they don’t have 7 non-Covid players? Where’s the proof, or at least the statement from Duke that says they only have 6?

And they are already planning to cancel their game after ours, too? Why?

People are testing positive for the Omicron variant one day and negative the next. This is premature and unnecessary.

Has 1 active high school, college or professional athlete died of Covid yet?

Serious question

So COVID-19 deaths are all that matter?

Dec 27, 2021, 8:00 PM

Not long hauler symptoms such as fatigue, aches, cardiovascular issues, etc.?

And college athletes transmitting the virus to older coaches as well as others in the community is not a concern?

Re: So COVID-19 deaths are all that matter?

Dec 28, 2021, 12:43 AM

Well, JK, apparently you don't care that more of these male athletes develop myocarditis, pericarditis or Acute Cardiac Syndrome FROM THE VACCINATION than suffer long-term issues from C-19.

The omicron variant is actually a more effective vaccine than the jab. At the rate it is spreading, virtually all Americans will have had it within the next month. And since it rarely enters the lungs, but remains in the throat for its entire brief life cycle, it will cause minimal suffering while granting us natural immunity for awhile.

I'm not saying no one will die from it, but fatalities and misery will be a fraction of Delta. And healthy athletes have nothing personally to fear from Omicron.

Re: So COVID-19 deaths are all that matter?

Dec 28, 2021, 11:44 AM [ in reply to Re: So COVID-19 deaths are all that matter? ]

In God I trust, all others bring data.

Sorry, but your claims don't hold water. Yes, there is an increased risk from the vaccine vs no vaccine and no infection but a greater risk for those infected. If you say that "all americans" will have this, the vaccine is lowers risk

First, there was an increase in the risk of myocarditis within a week of receiving the first dose of both adenovirus and mRNA vaccines, and a higher increased risk after the second dose of both mRNA vaccines. In contrast, we found no evidence of an increase in the risk of pericarditis or cardiac arrhythmias following vaccination, except in the 1–28?days following a second dose of the mRNA-1273 vaccine. Second, in the same population, there was a greater risk of myocarditis, pericarditis and cardiac arrhythmia following SARS-CoV-2 infection....We estimated extra myocarditis events to be between 1 and 10 per million persons in the month following vaccination, which was substantially lower than the 40 extra events per million persons observed following SARS-CoV-2 infection.

Also

We assessed the temporal association between COVID-19 vaccination and cardiac adverse events using hospital admissions with diagnoses of myocarditis or pericarditis, and cardiac arrhythmias. Myocarditis is an inflammatory disorder of the myocardium that commonly results from viral infection, systemic immune-mediated diseases or immunomodulatory treatments7. It occurs more commonly in men, which may be a consequence of different effects of sex hormones on the immune system8. Several cases have been reported in patients hospitalized with SARS-CoV-2 infection, and screening for cardiac involvement using cardiac troponin testing has demonstrated that myocardial injury is common and associated with poor outcomes9.Irrespective of the underlying etiology of myocarditis, those who develop important ventricular impairment are at increased risk of cardiogenic shock and mortality (1)0, highlighting the importance of ascertaining whether myocarditis may be temporally associated with vaccination for SARS-CoV-2.

Whilst myocarditis can be life-threatening, most vaccine-associated myocarditis events have been mild and self-limiting22. The risk observed here is small and confined to the 7-day period following vaccination, whereas the lifetime risk of morbidity and mortality following SARS-CoV-2 infection is substantial. Indeed, myocardial injury is very common in persons admitted to hospital with SARS-CoV-2 infection26, when evaluated systematically using high-sensitivity cardiac troponin tests27. Moreover, evidence of myocardial injury, irrespective of whether due to myocarditis or myocardial ischemia, is associated with a higher risk of in-hospital death28. We estimate that the absolute number of excess myocarditis events in the 28?days following a first dose of adenovirus or mRNA vaccine is between one and six per million persons vaccinated, and the excess risk following the second dose of the mRNA-1283 vaccine is ten per million. By contrast, we estimate 40 excess myocarditis events per million in the 28?days following SARS-CoV-2 infection.

https://www.nature.com/articles/s41591-021-01630-0

And where in the heck are you pulling your Omicron info? That data is still being compiled at best and considering the surge of fatal cases. At best early preliminary data suggest that fewer people are hospitalized but depending on the infection rates and actual mortality rates (Vaxxed vs unvaxxed) it could actually generate more deaths. However that data crunch is still a little way out.

Re: where do I get my data

Dec 29, 2021, 1:48 AM [ in reply to Re: So COVID-19 deaths are all that matter? ]

Admittedly my assessment of myocarditis and pericarditis frequency is anecdotal. But with 4 international professional footballers dying from heart attacks this week; numerous others collapsing on the pitch with chest pains; a professional basketball player I followed in Australia diagnosed with pericarditis and being told by multiple doctors it was a common response to the second jab.

There are websites that track this stuff.

I acknowledge that my data isn't as comprehensive as yours nor applied as professionally. But since my statement was that players are more at risk from the jab than from Covid itself, unless you can point to a young male athlete who has died from Covid, I stand by my statement.

And my assessment of omicron is not limited to the political narrative cooked up by the CDC. It comes from the South Africans who have studied it several weeks longer than us.

They only have a 26% vaccination rate over there, and nobody is claiming that the unvaxxed 74% is committing murder to their countrymen, like our politicians here do.

(My snarky comment about the CDC is due to the censorship of Dr Stephen Gundry's findings re. Acute Cardiac Syndrome that he was presenting to the AMA, but unfortunately Twitter blocked it as "misinformation ". Dr Gundry's research team is the leading Cardiac research team in the world. They have done more to save lives than anyone imaginable. The fact that his warnings about side effects of the jab were censored should tell you that you are only going to hear one side of the argument. It's time to start asking questions, if you aren't already. )
