They are a rival. Before all of the conference expansions began, we played UGA every year. It was not a friendly rivalry, regardless of the sport.

Coots, until Danny Ford came on the scene. I do remember beating them along with the Nerds at home in the 1974 "Undefeated Home Season" that was deemed worthy of a special Pepsi bottle, which I still have one of. It was the first time we had beaten them both in the same season since 1903. And, incredibly, back then, it was the Nerds (GT) that kept that from happening most times, not the Dawgs.
